Lake Murray is a reservoir within Mission Trails Regional Park and is maintained by the San Diego Water District. When the Lake is full, there are 171 surface acres, a maximum depth of 95 feet, and 3.2 miles of shoreline. Although the Lake is completely within the City of San Diego, Mission Trails Regional Park also borders La Mesa and Santee. Surrounding Lake Murray is Lake Murray Community Park and the Mission Trails Golf Course. There are 10 barbecues and 64 picnic tables located around the lake. la mesa: Otay Water District votes against Level 2 drought alert - 05/24/09 01:46 PM
Customers of the Otay Water District apparently have been so successful at voluntarily conserving water that the District voted recently to stay with a Level 1 drought alert instead of moving to a Level 2 drought alert. A Level 1 drought alert depends on people voluntarily conserving water, like showering with a buddy instead of alone -- LOL. A Level 2 drought alert mandates certain restrictions, like not washing the car by hand in the driveway, cutting down on landscape watering, etc. The Otay Water District serves about 191,000 customers in Bonita, Chula Vista (eastern and Eastlake), El Cajon (southern), Jamul,

la mesa: Second Annual Healthy Families Day in La Mesa - 04/30/09 04:27 PM
The Second Annual Healthy Families Day will take place on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, 6843 University Avenue, in eastern San Diego just a block west of La Mesa. Ray and Joan Kroc were the founders of the McDonald's burger empire, and when Joan Kroc died a few years ago, she left the empire to many non-profit, charitable, and philanthropic organizations throughout San Diego County.
