mission bay: Dont' let the sun go down on you.... - 08/04/09 09:29 AM
Recently I took an evening cruise on the Bahia Belle on Mission Bay. Each evening along the coast, the "marine layer" comes ashore. The marine layer is a low-lying layer of clouds, and when they are just right, you can watch them march across the sky while the sun is shining high above them. Those are exactly the conditions I got at the time.

Not too far away from the 39 condominium complexes in Mission Valley is San Diego's Mission Bay Park, the largest manmade aquatic park in the nation.
With 4,235 acres, of which about 46% is land and 54% is water, Mission Bay Park offers every type of boating -- sailing, ski boats, fishing boats, jet skis, etc.
There are walking and jogging paths, playgrounds for children, places to fly kites, picnic and barbecue areas, and even fire rings where one can actually build a fire on the beach and roast some marshmallows.
