Sidewalks in and of themselves don't make a city walkable. Because of it's topography, San Diego is not the most walkable city I've visited. However, there are many areas of San Diego that are walkable, such as the beaches, Mission Valley, and downtown at the waterfront.

public art: Public art along San Diego's Embarcadero - 10/25/09 01:50 PM
The San Diego Port Commission is in charge of just about everything related to the San Diego waterfront.
That means that the Port Commission gets to decide on what public art is appropriate along the waterfront.
Sometimes they hit a home run, other times they strike out.

I enjoy public art just as much as the next person, which means that I don't have much appreciation for a lot of what is called public art.
I understand that art is in the eye of the beholder, so I like to walk along the Embarcadero down at the Bay to see what kind of public art has been installed to test our eyes.
