Contrary to popular rumor and urban myths, Santa Claus apparently does not return immediately to the North Pole once his Christmas rounds are done. For the second consecutive year, Santa has been spotted on Coronado Island well after Christmas. Today, January 10, 2010, he was seen leaving the Coronado Beach with only two reindeer pulling his sleigh. The sleigh was empty, and it looks like Santa has a pretty good tan. After posting about Virgina O'Hanlon, she of "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" fame, I got curious about The Sun, the conservative New York city newspaper that published the editorial. Here are some interesting facts about The Sun for your holiday enjoyment: Published from 1833 through 1950. An editorial titled "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus" was published on September 21, 1897, in The Sun (1833-1950), a conservative New York newspaper.
