sports: Welcome home the Little League World Champions on September 4! - 08/30/09 08:32 PM
The Park View All-Stars, from right here in Chula Vista, rallied from a 3-0 deficit to defeat Taiwan 6-3, to win the Little League World Series.
The last time a San Diego County team won the Little League World Series was in 1961 when El Cajon/La Mesa Northern won the whole enchilada.
There will be a welcome home rally on September 4 in Chula Vista with the team making its appearance on a fire truck at the F Street station and traveling to the Memorial Park and Bowl.

sports: Twit Warning, Twit Warning - 08/30/09 04:20 PM

Players in the United States Open Tennis Championships, which begin tomorrow in New York City, have been warned not to be Twits by tweeting inappropriately on Twitter.
Apparently, Twitter Warnings signs from the Tennis Integrity Unit have been posted in the players' lounge, locker rooms, and referee's office at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Can you believe that "Twitter messages could violate the sport's anti-corruption rules"? Huh?
Andy Roddick, who is known to be somewhat outspoken, tweeted in response to the warning:
