There are many things in life that I still don't understand, even though I'm going to be half a century young on July 18. It seems that even though we all grow older day by day, there's never a lack of things going on that puzzle we the (normal?) people.
When I read them, hear about them, or see them on the news, or YouTube, or the Internet, I just shake my head and ask, Why?

With the recent release of Michael Vick from prison for financing a dog-fighting ring -- and I'm all for giving people a second chance -- one thing I don't understand is why society doesn't like dog fighting or cock fighting, but we allow boxing and horse racing.
Stick with me here for a minute.
