wordless wednesdays: Wordless Wednesday, Silent Saturday, and Speechless Sunday, all rolled into one - 04/15/11 11:09 AM

Wordless Wednesday, Silent Saturday, and Speechless Sunday, all rolled into one
After I finished showing properties with a Client a couple of days ago, I went to preview some properties for a different Client. Sitting at the entrance to the first neighborhood I was going to was a truck:

That's not so unusual, but along with buying cars in any condition, and paying cash, they advertise this:

At first I couldn't understand how you could buy a car from someone who didn't have title, and then it hit me: We're close to Mexico, where many stolen … (14 comments)

wordless wednesdays: Wordless Wednesday (with a little bit of text) from SeaWorld - 02/09/11 01:56 PM
Wordless Wednesday
Since it was a very beautiful day today, I took the afternoon off and went to SeaWorld. I figured that since I've been working so hard on these two offers that I have going, I was due an afternoon off.
I got quite a few good pictures, but I think the following is my favorite:

That guy, a snowy egret, was hanging out at the manta ray shallows, and since everyone was feeding the manta rays, I suspect he was there on cleanup duty.

wordless wednesdays: Wordless Wednesday from the San Diego Zoo - 01/19/11 12:30 PM

Wordless Wednesdayfrom the San Diego Zoo
Since I listed a property last night, I rewarded myself by going to the San Diego Zoo for a couple of hours this morning.
It was an overcast morning, and quite cool, and these two rhinos were just relaxing:

It's also mating time at the Zoo for many of the animals, so I don't know if those two were just waiting for the sun to come out or if they had just finished doing the deed.

wordless wednesdays: Wordless Wednesday near your Mission Valley condo in San Diego CA: What do YOU see? - 08/12/09 02:49 AM
Now that I have a camera again that makes taking pictures an actual joy rather than the challenge that my point & shoot camera always provided me, I find myself looking at Mother and Father Nature and sometimes finding them playing tricks on my eyes.
Such was the case recently when I was at the San Diego Zoo which is just a few miles from all of the Mission Valley condos. In addition to being a world-class Zoo, the San Diego Zoo is also a world-class botanical garden with hundreds of thousands of plants from throughout the world.

wordless wednesdays: WWW (Wordless Wednesday with Words): Upside down with love - 07/22/09 03:39 AM
My marketing guru and I take a lot of pictures of Zoey the Cool Cat since we don't have to pay for film or developing costs. Probably 90% of them are simply pictures that may or may not get used for anything. Occasionally, though, we get a picture that has attitude, compassion, love, inspiration -- all the things that one looks for in many pictures. I believe such is the case with this picture of Zoey the Cool Cat:

wordless wednesdays: WWW (Wordless Wednesday with Words): A ponytail???? - 07/08/09 01:41 PM
I've always known that because of San Diego's Mediterranean climate, virtually anything will grow here if one gave it enough water to meet its needs and, in some cases, protected it from the extreme mid-day sun and the hot, dry Santa Ana winds.
And I've seen just about everything growing here, from citrus fruits to bananas to strawberries.
However, while I was out showing properties today, I ran across something that I wasn't quite sure what it was because I've never seen it in its raw form.

I know. I'm a sheltered individual. But the corn I always see looks … (11 comments)

wordless wednesdays: WWW (Wordless Wednesday with Words): San Diego Zoo tiger slide show - 06/24/09 12:28 PM
The San Diego Zoo has five Malayan tigers in residence, but they usually spend most of their time sleeping.
Unfortunately, their sleeping quarters are out of view of the general public.
A recent visit, though, found three of the tigers running and frolicking.
Well, maybe running and frolicking might be putting it a little too strongly, especially for one of them.
You'll understand.
Just enjoy the slide show that I've put together for you. If the slide show here doesn't work on your computer, click here to watch it at slide.com. And remember to put the Zoo and the tigers on … (13 comments)

wordless wednesdays: WWW (Wordless Wednesday with Words): San Diego Zoo peacocks - 06/03/09 01:26 PM
This has been my year to see the strutting peacocks at the San Diego Zoo. I've been going at least once a year since I was about 12, but I had never seen the peacocks in full display. This year I've been to the Zoo three times, and all three times I've been privileged to see peacocks putting on a show.
Last week was just supposed to be a quick one-hour trip to the Zoo to see the new Elephant Odyssey that opened at a cost of $45 million. What recession?
Elephant Odyssey covers almost eight acres and has more than … (17 comments)

wordless wednesdays: WWW (Wordless Wednesday with Words): Please take care of Old Glory - 05/06/09 04:36 PM
Since my dad was in the Navy, I have a certain respect for the military, the United States of America, and the flat of the United States of America, also known as Old Glory.
There are protocols for not only displaying the Flag, but for when the Flag should not be displayed, and how to properly dispose of the Flag.
I previewed a property today that was owned by a Major General. Now one would think that a Major General would know everything there is to know about the Flag of the United States of America, and I won't fault him … (19 comments)

wordless wednesdays: WWW (Wordless Wednesday with Words): Not all lemons are bad - 04/22/09 03:01 AM
One of the nice things about having sunny weather virtually year-round is that if one actually goes out and does things, one can find almost any type of refreshment, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
My favorite type of non-alcoholic beverage is freshly squeezed lemonade, and since there are still a lot of lemon groves in San Diego County and throughout Southern California, finding freshly squeezed lemonade is fairly easy.
Recently I was out at the Carlsbad Flower Fields and had the pleasure of having some excellent freshly squeezed lemonade at -- you guessed it -- the lemon stand:

wordless wednesdays: WWW (Wordless Wednesday with Words): "Before" and "After" - 04/15/09 05:57 AM
At one point in my life I wanted to be a professional photographer. When I finally realized that it was a job that took 25 hours a day, eight days a week, I decided to let it go.
I think I secretly was very anti-photography for almost a decade, until I joined ActiveRain last August. Even then, it has taken me a few months to make it a habit to take my camera with me wherever I go. In fact, I have three cameras -- one at home, one in the car, and the one that I usually use that is … (10 comments)

wordless wednesdays: WWW (Wordless Wednesday with Words): Eternity hallway - 04/08/09 11:31 AM
I had an early morning appointment today so I didn't get a chance to do a WWW post, and during my previews and showings today I was wondering in the back of my mind what I would use for today.
I'm a big fan of symmetry, to the consternation of my marketing guru who likes to do things offset in either thirds or fifths.
As my Client and I stepped into the hallway leading to the last condomium that we were going to look at, I was struck by the symmetry of the hallway. It reminded me of the eternity rooms … (17 comments)

When I'm out and about previewing properties for my Clients, I occasionally will stop some place where I've never been, or where I haven't been recently. I like to see what's new in town.
We have a new Hilton hotel here in San Diego, right down on the bay front, which could be why they named it the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. Imagine that.
It is a gorgeous hotel, both inside and out, but I did have to question at least one of their paintings. I liked what they did with the candles, but I think the painting might be more appropriate … (14 comments)
