Blue Angels HD video - if you love the Blue Angels this is a must see! - 03/31/10 09:55 PM
Blue Angels HD video - if you love the Blue Angels this is a must see!  The following video is shot in high definition and therefore, takes a bit of time to load.  We loaded it, then watched it.  If you just try to watch it right away without it fully loading, you will get starts and stops - very distracting.  This video is worth the effort to get it right.  A Blue Angels air show is one thing, but this video is something else.  The views are like you have never seen before.  Enjoy!

The Money Runs Out Today - 03/31/10 08:58 AM
Thanks Cathy for calling attention to the elephant in the room!  Rising interest rates for real.
Via Cathy Glass, Realtor® Knoxville Tennessee (Realty Executives Associates):
I have been hearing for months, now, that the government money pumping up the lenders runs out on March 30, 2010. We have lived with these low interest rates for so long that it seems as though it will be forever. How well I remember the high interest rates of the 1980's, because that is when I bought my first home. During those times, a 7% interest rate seemed like a steal. Now, we are used to 4% … (0 comments)

Villages at Baxter Ridge - a Chesterfield, Missouri gem - 03/25/10 10:25 PM

The Villages at Baxter Ridge is a Chesterfield, Missouri subdivision gem - one of our favorites!  Built during a 2 year period from 1984 to 1986, the Villages at Baxter Ridge was a collaborative effort of 4 different builders - Jones, Lieberman, Mason and Raleigh-Givens.  A unique plan at the time, the subdivision consists of 300 single family homes and a section with 135 condominiums. Each of 4 "villages" is named after a season. The Villages at Baxter Ridge is known as Baxter Ridge to the residents and locals alike.

Part of Baxter Ridge's popularity has to do with the community amenities … (1 comments)

Mortgage Rates Go From 2010 Lows to 2010 Highs in One Day
March 25, 2010 (MortgageNewsDaily.com)
At 1pm eastern, the Department of Treasury auctioned $42 billion 5 year notes.  When our government lacks the cash to pay for spending, they must borrow funds from investors. They do this by selling debt (Treasury bills, notes, and bonds).
Market participants gauge the success of auctions by tracking demand.  Tuesday's auction of 2 year notes saw below average demand which pressured treasury yields higher.  The same thing occurred again yesterday. Demand was low and benchmark Treasury yields continued to rise after the auction results … (0 comments)

Via Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance):
It's very rare or more likely never that I've posted a picture or chart without much explanation.  However, this chart showing the return on investment over the last decade requires very little commentary.  Granted... depending upon your timing, your return may be significantly different.  However, the chart does make its point.
Please note: Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future returns.

How much information will you give the census taker?? - 03/19/10 08:53 AM
How much information will you give the census taker who arrives on your doorstep? This video certainly raises some serious concerns about the information that this year’s census will ask of us. Do they have the right to ask and do you have to answer? What do they do with the information they are asking for? All excellent questions! What will you do when the census taker arrives?? … (6 comments)
