The snowstorm we had last night and this morning was a bit of a surprise for just about everyone I know.  The weathermen had been forecasting snow for a few days, but the closer we got to the weekend, the higher their chances got. 
As of yesterday morning, I was certain we would see some of the white stuff, but you never really know how much you'll get or if it will even stick until it arrives.
I think the official measurement for Charleston was three inches, but I'm pretty sure we may have gotten around four.  We've had snow flurries and a … (8 comments)

I just received an email announcing the next meeting to stop the development of the Angel Oak Village. 
The meeting is scheduled for this Thursday night, January 14th, at 5:00 pm and will be on the third floor of 75 Calhoun Street, directly across from the library downtown.
If you are able to attend, then please do!  The more people we have present at this meeting the better the statement we will be able to make!

If you've been readng here long, then you know that we have a passion for the rich history in and around Charleston.
One of the things that we have spent some time on most recently is the fight going on to save the Angel Oak and its surrounding area.  There is a ton of opposition with this project, and as far as I can see, these individuals have only the best intentions.
The Angel Oak has been around a llloooonnnnnggggg time, but if this development is allowed to proceed, then her days with us will be cut significantly short.
