Just imagine this..... more than 65,000 pounds of oysters!
Two tractor-trailers full of oysters will roll onto the grounds at Boone Hall Plantation on Sunday, January 31, 2010 to kick off the 27th Annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival.  This event has been named in the "top 20 events in the southeast" by the Southeastern Tourism Society! Held by the Greater Charleston Restaurant Association, the "Oyster Fest" gates open at 10:30 am with free parking available. Children ages 6 and under and their families are invited to the Old Village on Friday, Dec. 18 to enjoy the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department's annual Visit with Santa event. The excitement will begin at 12 p.m. at the G.M. Darby Building, located at 302 Pitt Street in the Old Village neighborhood of Mount Pleasant. There will be Christmas music, games, crafts, face painting and, of course, a visit with Santa himself. A photo will be provided, as well as free snacks for children. This event is free of charge.

This Saturday, November 21st at 6pm, the Mt. Pleasant's Towne Centre will be hitting the light switch on their festival tree. Be sure to bring your little ones and the young at heart (me) to see the lights sparkle and to take part in all of the night's festivities. 
Santa will be at the Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre November 27- December 24. He will be available for visits daily in front of Banana Republic. Monday- Friday 3pm- 8pmSaturday 12- 8pmOn December 24 special Santa visiting hours are 10am- 5pm.

Scheduled for March 21, 2009 this gung-ho fundraiser is a must see for this Charlestonian. The Stampede is a 100 yard dash and the participants (women and men) must wear high heels no less than 3". This event will be held in Mt.
