Tom Tom vs. factory navigation - 10/25/08 01:28 PM
There are a lot of people out there that think its crazy to pay $1,500 - $2,000 extra for a new car that has a factory navigation system. I am one of them but I did it anyways. I gotta tell you it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Not only because it cleaned up my car from all of those mapquest printouts, it makes showing a house a whole lot easier. I am the type of person who overresearches everything. I decided to go with a Honda Accord with Navigation. Not just because I liked the car (4 comments)
Reasons deals fall apart - 10/23/08 09:25 AM
After having too many deals fall apart, I had to put together this list to show to clients. I have had a deal fall apart or almost fall apart for all of these reasons.
•1. Pay all of your bills on time. A late payment can result in a lower credit rating, lowering your chances of being approved for a loan. •2. Don't take out any loans or make big purchases. A big purchase (car loan, new furniture, vacation, etc) can change your income/debt ratio. An increase in debt can reduce the amount of money left over for your mortgage payment, (3 comments)
Shhhh, don't say that in the house - 10/22/08 10:06 PM
Not that I know what a nanny-cam looks like nor do I look for recording devices, but I always tell my clients not to say particular things about a house while they are still in the house. It sure ruins your negotiation power when the seller knows what your bottom line is right away. Do other agents tell their clients the same thing or am I just being too over cautious? (1 comments)
Does anyone in CT use an eKEY on their phone? - 10/22/08 02:13 PM
I have been thinking about trading in my regular eKEY for the eKEY program to put on my TREO phone but I don't want to get stranded at a house with an old lockbox. I spoke to my local board (Greater Waterbury Board) and they said most people haven't upgraded yet. Does anyone who switched have any feedback on how they like having the eKEY on their phone? Are people still seeing houses with the old electronic boxes?
For those of you who are interested, here is the list of phone that are compatable with the eKEY http://www.gesecurity.com/GESecurity/Real%20Estate/current_devices.pdf
