Tuesday February 17th, 2009 President Barack Obama signed his $787 billion economic stimulus bill into law in Denver Colorado. This bill was approved with only three Republican votes in the U.S. House of Representatives February 13th, 2009. The bill was signed in the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Denver was the city that the President accepted the Democratic nomination for the presidency. Denver Colorado hosted the 2008 Democratic National Convention. The convention began August 25 and ended August 28th, 2008.
Barack Obama gave his acceptance speech at Denver's INVESCO Field, home of the Denver Broncos NFL football team, August 28th, to an audience of approximately 85,000 enthusiastic spectators. Barack's 85,000 spectators exceeded the number of people that attended China's opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing. It has been reported that the DNC was the highest rated in history.
Barack Obama has already set a record by being the first black to head a major party ticket for a presidential race.
