project blogger: There's No Fluff In This Blogger's Reach - 06/24/07 03:12 PM
It was back in April that I gave the last update on Jackie Colson-Miller's (www.RealEstateSizzle.com) progress in the Project Blogger competition.  Now that we are more than half way through the contest, I figured I should give an update as to her site's statistics and changes over the last couple of months.1. Design tweaksWe listened to all the complaints about the 'sizzling noise' upon loading the site, and as much as Jackie protested, we bent and removed it.  Look for us to put it back as a clickable icon for those that want to 'experience the sizzle'.
There was talk that it … (2 comments)

project blogger: Blogger Idol, Where's Simon Cowell When You Need Him? - 05/07/07 06:00 PM
Jason Benesch presented me with the following article and I felt it was so timely that not only did I have to post it, but I decided to contribute some editorial as a 'second half' to the piece.  Blogger Idol, Where's Simon Cowell When You Need Him?By Jason BeneschI have to come clean.I have watched every episode of American Idol this season.  I
t's still extremely hard for those words to roll off my tongue, but I believe the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem (so I've heard).  I have never before watched a full season … (7 comments)

project blogger: Officially Judged On Project Blogger. Oh Yeah, We Are Already Generating Leads! - 04/16/07 12:31 PM
So the first week of official judging is here, finally.  Jackie’s growth since we launched the blog just over 3 weeks ago has been staggering.  Her stats below tell the story, but it is one specific announcement that we need to make that have us jumping for joy. Jackie has generated her first bona fide inbound lead through her blogging efforts on RealEstateSizzle.com!
Yes, you read that correctly; in less than one month of blogging, we have started to generate leads on her real estate blogsite.
You may remember from last week’s review, Jackie is in Europe, so her team will be following … (8 comments)

project blogger: Unjudged and Unbridled, Project Blogger - Final Week Of Review From Pre-Season - 04/10/07 08:48 PM
Here are the results of our final week of not being judged, officially.  I should have gotten these stats and training items out yesterday, but seems that Easter got in the way (read: In-Laws).   Our next installment will be our first officially judged week, with the stats starting retroactive to Monday the 9th.
Jackie is leaving today for a few weeks in Europe.  She will be reporting back to us in her posts as well as in her video blogging.
One of the reasons we made sure to get Jackie off to such a fast start (3 weeks) is because she … (0 comments)

project blogger: Unjudged and Unbridled, Project Blogger - Week Two - 04/02/07 12:21 PM
Here we are again, unjudged and unbridled, knowing that we are not officially being judged yet by the audience, nor the judges until April 9th.
Yet, as I explained last week, we feel that it is important to begin documenting Jackie Colson-Miller's progress.  Given that we are literally developing her skills from the ground up, this creates the opportunity for others to see our process and progress.
Below is a breakdown of some of this past week’s efforts in getting Jackie's Real Estate Sizzle prepared during this Pre-Season, as well as some of her second week's stats.Week Two - Training with the … (2 comments)

project blogger: Project Blogger: Unjudged and Unbridled (Pre-Season Swagger) - 03/26/07 04:49 PM
We know that we are not officially being judged yet by the audience, nor the judges, but I feel that it is important to begin documenting Jackie Colson-Miller's progress.
Below is a breakdown of some of the formula we have used getting Jackie's Real Estate Sizzle prepared here during Pre-Season, as well as some of her first week's stats.Week One - Training with the Tomato:1. project blogger: Project Blogger: Like Trying To Hold Back A Raging Bull - 03/19/07 10:33 PM
I've been trying to hold back Jackie Colson-Miller from an official launch for a week now... and it's like trying to keep a raging bull in a chute. She is so raring to go, it's dangerous.Active Rain’s Jonathan Washburn set the rules that we're in "pre-season" through April 9th, but we see no reason not to start playing for real, judged officially, or not.Located in Tampa, but global in spirit, Jackie aims to be more popular than her blogging master, the Tomato. If you ask me, I think she can do it.The Name she has 'branded' for her international real estate destination: The Real … (4 comments)

project blogger: 16 Reasons Why "Bloggers Connect" Is Going To Rock - 03/12/07 10:17 AM
Now that Realtor Magazine recognizes that real estate blogs are worth visiting, it seems we can all lower our “freak flags” and breathe a sigh of relief; we’re on the map.  Now let’s take it by storm.
This year’s Inman Connect in San Francisco has included a special two day event called the Bloggers Connect.  16 of us have been asked to be part of a Steering Committee where we’ll aim to develop the topics of discussion and workshops for the event.
In addition to the serious stuff, there are to be “fun and crazy events being built into the … (2 comments)
