business darwinism: Business Darwinism - If you don't evolve you will die! - 07/11/10 12:44 PM

I have always been intrigued by the creation vs. evolution theories that are out there. It doesn't matter at this point how we got here, but if we don't want to go the way of the dinosaurs, we better think about how we might want to "evolve" our business models.
For example, when I attended Boise State University in the early 1980's to get a degree in Marketing, Google didn't even exist. The God(s) had not yet created it. Years ago I coined the term “Business Darwinism”. In the ever evolving business world, if you don’t evolve to the market, you become extinct.
Verses
In real estate, a few classes, pass an exam or two, then find a sympathetic broker to let you hang your license with and you are in business. That is not a very high barrier to entry to start a professional career.
In most areas of the country, there are not very high fees to maintain a license (continuing education, MLS dues, local and NAR association dues, E&O insurance) so the drop out rate isn’t … (1 comments)
