social media: Does Your Real Estate Agent Have Klout? - 09/26/11 11:44 AM
Social Media is forever changing the way we communicate and do business.  We post things on Facebook, Tweet this or that, + things on Google, and then go blog about our life.
In the revised EPRO class, one thing they cover is a relatively new company called Klout which attempts to guage how much online influence you have based on:
How many people you influence (True Reach) How much you influence them via responses and sharing your data (Amplification) How influential they are based on if top influencers are influenced by you (Network Score) When you first sign up for Klout, … (8 comments)

I would love to try the Windows Mobile 2010 but my Treo 800W only has Windows 6.1 mobile and not the required 6.5 mobile.

social media: Google launches yet another new tool - Google Sidewiki - 09/30/09 12:07 PM

I just learned of an interesting new feature by Google called Sidewiki www.google.com/sidewiki  It is a new feature of the Google Toolbar (currently available on IE and Firefox surprisingly not yet on Chrome).
Essentially this can create a sidebar wiki entry for every website which makes it available for public comment and feedback.  This creates a very unique new realm of social networking opportunties and threats!
Useful features:
include learning from others that have been there before you; customer satisfaction ratings; if you have a great reputation, it can really work for you since it can become a rating system … (14 comments)

social media: What if we put together a real live "Realtor social network", not just an online one? - 08/07/09 10:14 AM
Since Realtors are Independent Contractors, it is hard for the public to realize just how many Realtors there are in the community since we don't always stand out collectively.  Also, we get so busy in our own world that we don't often get out and network as a group except at membership meetings, etc.
My thought it to pattern this off the Travel Industry which rewards it’s travel agents with discounted rooms, airfare and rental cars, cruises, etc.  We blend that with a little “welcome wagon" style marketing and we should be up and running for little or no cost.

social media: Twitter is proving the power of social media - support the Iranian Revolution! - 06/22/09 11:22 PM
As you probably have heard in the media, the election results in Iran's recent election were a farce! Within three hours of closing the polls they claim to have already hand counted the millions of votes and declared Ahmedinejad the winner.  He is the one that wants to blow the Jews off the map!  He claims the Holocost never existed!  He claims there are no Homosexuals in Iran!  No wonder Jay Leno used to call him "I'm a nut job" instead of Ahmedinejad.

I lived in Iran during the overthrow of the Shah and graduated from Tehran American School in 1978 … (0 comments)
