For those who are shopaholics like myself, Hobby Lobby is having a 66% off sale on all home accent pieces, 50% of other select pieces...like frames, and 30% off all furniture. I actually saw a dining table I liked (french country) for $199.00 and 30% off would make it about $140. Not bad!

The table was solid and not hollow sounding like most around that price. It should last a while.

Remember the childhood game telephone? I used to love that game. Someone, at the beginning of a long line of people, tells a secret to the person sitting next to them. That person, in turn, tells that same secret to the person sitting next to them.

The secret is passed down the line until the last person has heard it. Then that person has to announce what the secret is.

Many times our networking is the "business" version of the game Telephone. If we have successfully provided a service to a company in need, that company may spread the word to their colleagues about how pleased they were the service they received.

What better referral can you get than by word of mouth? Nothing is better!

If you are the service provider, continue giving your best so as to encourage word of mouth referrals. Don't be afraid to ask clients to "play the game". Offer incentives for business obtained from referrals, such as: Discounts, gift certificates, or office kits.

Let's all play our part in creating success. If you've received outstanding service, spread the word....

Have you attempted to have a workout plan?

Is a workout plan now just a far gone thought?

Everyday, we should have the goal of bettering ourselves. Yes, I know, we have busy lives. There are only 24 hours in the day. Between work, family, personal time, recreation, cleaning, and shopping....who has time?

Guess what boys and girls! I have a way to stick to your workout plan and it will actually provide you with more time! (No, this is not a scheme. Read on)

Exercise can be defined as a process or activity carried out for a specific purpose. What process or activities, in your daily work life, are you you carrying out for the purpose of strengthening your business? The following are examples of routines that may be included in your workout plan:

Marketing
Statistical Research
Newsletter/Ezine production & distribution
Conference/seminar scheduling

Your workout plan for your business can be daunting at times. Many times we may plan to workout each day, but because of priorities our business "exercise" may get pushed aside or put on the back burner. I used to crack up at the old commercials for the innovative Clapper. What an idea! Something else to make us lazy! But then I got to thinking....I wish there was Clapper for almost every aspect in our life:

Hunger (I need to lose weight)
Vacation (although I probably wouldn't ever turn this off)
Money (We all know this would we be on for good!)
STRESS (I'd never turn this on)

You may not have a Clapper that handles more than electricity, but you do have access to something very similar. It's right at your fingertips and can take care of three of the four aforementioned aspects of life.......Stagers and VA's.

Vacation

Stagers: These fine people relieve you of the time it takes to give a home "buy me" power. So, depending on the productivity level of a full-time employee, you may be paying up to 3 times his or her actual salary! Napkins - From the kitchen to the living room

A few weeks ago, I was at Target while they were having their major Global Bazaar sale. There were tons and tons of linen napkins for $3.00 for a set of four. Plain ones, blue ones, printed ones, red ones.....I'm telling you tons and tons. Anywho....you may not have a need for napkins at any of your stagings, but use these napkins in the living room.

How? Make pillows out of them!

Stich, or sew (if you're that crafty), the edges of two napkins together making 4 napkins into two. Stitch, or sew, the now two larger napkins together (only 3 edges and half of the last edge). Stuff the fabric with filling and stitch the last portion of the 4th side shut.

The napkins make great throw pillows.

Designer roller shades

Want to cover those drab windows with designer shades, but can't afford to pay the "desinger shade" dough?

Buy cheap, plain roller shades, spray fabric glue, and your choice of fabric.
Cut the fabric down to the size of the roller shade.
Spray glue the back of the fabric
Place the fabric glue edge to edge with the roller shade and brush out the creases and rolls with a wallpaper brush.

VOALA!!!!!! A designer shade!

What to do if they have no place to go?

Ok...here we go!

I recently created a site using Sitebuilder by SWsoft. My images will appear if I view the site in Safari Browser, but they will not appear if I'm viewing the site in IE or Firefox. I have my browsers set up to view images. My images are in the correct folder. I've even tried switching folders and redirecting the img src=.

Can someone figure it out?

Ebay is my best friend!

I can't say it enough, but I LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEE Ebay! When my husband and I built our house, I looked to ebay for a wall oven (manufactor priced at $1400), cooktop (manufacture priced at $550.00), chimney chute overhead vent (manufacture priced at $700.00), and light fixtures. My house is gorgeous because of ebay, and I only spent $1050 total for all of the before mentioned items!

Now that I'm getting into Staging and need to build inventory, ebay is my BFF. I purchased a gorgeous....I mean gorgeous 9x7 Persian rug for $10! Ok Stagers.....pick your jaws up off the floor. I know it's unbelievable. Shipping wasn't expensive either.

It's amazing what people sell on ebay; Lamps, throw pillows, fabric, furniture (of all sorts), rugs, appliances, etc.

If you haven't done so yet, go to ebay. Remember, though, if you decide to purchase from ebay make sure you look at the feedback scores and comments. That will help, in the long run, to find great deals and be satisfied with the product.

If you have purchased inventory from Ebay, what great items have you found and at what price? I love hearing about great finds.

Attention Stagers!

Maybe in my original post I came at this the wrong way......Yes, I am a soon to be stager (it's my dream), but right now I'm a Virtual Assistant working towards a goal. Its my hope that I will be able to balance being a VA and Stager once the opportunity presents itself. I could never give up my VA biz.

However, I was hoping that I could get a network going. A network of Stagers!

This forum is excellent, by all means, and I could stop being lazy and look at profiles to get contact information when I come in contact with a Realtor that is intrested in staging services, but it's sooooo much easier for me to have the contact info of those stagers whom are interested already in my address book.

Here's what I propose for those who are interested (I only have one signed up for it so far):

1. Send me your name, biz name, contact info, and cities served.

2. I will promote your services extensively in conjunction with my VA services to the Realtors nationwide. (This is free advertising for stagers)

3. When a Realtor expresses interest and let's me know the details and pics of any listings he would be intersted in having staged (in your area, of course), I will then go to my handy-dandy address book and get a Staging Professionals name and contact information.

4. I will contact you, the Stager, give details, ask if you are interested, send you pics of the listings so you can get a head start on brainstorming.

5. After you agree to take on the challenge, I will then share with the Realtor your contact information and let him/her know when you will contact them to move forward in the stage it forward process.

6. You contact the Realtor and work your magic!

The only thing I ask in return is that you pay a one time referral fee of $50 for each Realtor that you are connected with and complete a consultation. That's right, no consultation.....no fee! And even if you get 100's of jobs from one Realtor, you only pay for the initial referral.

I will keep accurate records of who has had recent referrals, so as to give everyone an opportunity to receive business if there is more than one staging professional that serves the same areas.
