MN Short Sales can be done after the Sheriff's Sale After a homeowner misses 3 consecutive payments most banks will begin the formal foreclosure process. This will involve sending collection and acceleration letters on a couple of occasions. Then they will refer the loan to a local attorney to begin the foreclosure.
