commission: Why you shouldn't buy a new car if you are looking to buy a home - 03/01/08 02:48 PM
Many people have come to me to buy a new home. In the beginning I lost a deal, because they bought a new car.  So I tell all my buyers to not buy a new car when looking for a home.
When you get a raise or accumulate some money most people like to spend it.  Some decide to buy a home. some a car then there are the people who like to buy both.  They have a desire to spend money.
Buying a home is sometimes a long and laborious ordeal, but an adventurous one at that.  So in saying this, don't make it harder on yourself.

commission: Dinosaur Valley State Park - 02/19/08 09:15 AM
If you or your children love to explore new places, this is it.
The State Park is located in Somervell County Texas, Close to the town of Glen Rose. The Park is over 1500 acres and in 1969, was designated a National Natural Landmark.   This is a great place to view the fossilized dinosaur footprints.

You can also hike, camp, picnic, fish, and swim.  The area is full of beautiful scenery and wildlife. The coolest thing I think is the dinosaur tracks.   They near a part of the Brazos River called the Paluxy. The park is open year round, but late summer is the best time to visit for viewing the tracks, make sure you … (4 comments)

commission: Very special day in my life. - 12/23/07 08:14 AM
38 years ago today I was lying in a crib at an adoption agency waiting to get picked up.  I was 2 months old so I really don't remember, but I know the story so well from my parents.
It was up in Wisconsin and the weather was cold and there was a huge blizzard going on.  My mother awoke and was scared that she would not be able to pick me up.  They needed a miracle and got one through my dad.
He decided no matter what they were going so they got in their car and took there time … (31 comments)

commission: 9/11 was 6 years ago - 09/11/07 09:29 AM
Wow, six years ago today, America experienced a tragedy of immense proportions: a malicious attack on the United States soil that cost us thousands of innocent lives.  As Americans, we struggled with the horror and senselessness of that attack. The days and weeks that passed we comforted ourselves in the Flag, Old Glory and Patriotism through that difficult time.    This is something we will always remember and always will.  If you can please take a moment to think of those who died on September 11, 2001, and remember the freedom that our soldiers are still protecting today.
Thank you America,
J.

Talking Smoke Alarms and Other Tips to Protect Kids from Fire.  I just was reading some different things on the net and I discovered the Talking Smoke Alarms.  I find these very interesting.  You program your voice to wake them up when a fire starts and you can also put directions on the alarm to tell them how to get out.  This is very cool.
Here is a website that tells more about it.  http://www.doityourself.com/stry/ara_talkingsmokealar

commission: Layoffs spreading in the housing industry Via Yahoo.com - 08/23/07 07:32 PM
This is so crazy.  Things here in Austin Texas are going okay, but how are agents and other professionals handling this market?
By Ron Scherer and Ben Arnoldy Thu Aug 23, 4:00 AM ET
New York; and Oakland, Calif. - Just a few years ago, mortgage salesman Terry Orlowski rode the housing boom and a six-figure income down to the car dealership and bought a new Audi A6.
Now, the soaring market and the fast car are gone. Last week he lost his job, along with 6,000 other employees of First Magnus Financial Corp., a mortgage lender. With a 1999 Dodge Grand … (3 comments)

commission: How to save money at the Grocery store - 08/23/07 07:16 PM
Food Purchased at Markets
You can save hundreds of dollars a year by shopping at the lower-priced food stores. Convenience stores often charge the highest prices. You will spend less on food if you shop with a list. You can save hundreds of dollars a year by comparing price-per-ounce or other unit prices on shelf labels. Stock up on those items with low per-unit costs. commission: Condo Market in Austin Texas - 08/23/07 03:14 PM
Here is a great article from the Austin American Statesman.
Many families are skipping the suburbs for a downtown condo excerpt from article by Michele Chan Santos in THE AMERICAN-STATESMAN THE AMERICAN STATESMAN 8.12.07
The downtown and near-downtown condo and townhouse market is exploding. And most of those units aren't selling to millionaire single guys who bought condos just to be near Sixth Street. Instead, empty-nesters who are retired and looking to downsize from large homes, couples and even some young families are increasingly calling condos within a 3-mile radius of the Capitol home.
This reflects a national trend toward more interest in living … (0 comments)

commission: Want to create a graph - 08/23/07 10:12 AM
If you like graphs here is a free website to create your own.  I created a few to show my clients how a commission is broken up.  They like to think we make an average of 6%, but by showing where the money goes they feel better about paying the commission. I even make graphs of my advertising and expenses to show them how little I will make once this transaction is all done,
