sun city grand: Number 1! Phoenix Area is Number 1 Place to Buy a Retirement Home!!! - 09/27/10 01:16 PM
U.S. News & World Report said in an article on September 24, 2010 that the Phoenix area was the number 1 place to buy a retirement home. You can read the article here. The writer was investigating locations in the United States where you can buy a home for less than $600 a month. The writer also takes into consideration such amenities as golf courses, (over 200 in the metro, 9 in Sun City alone.), sports, hiking, and cultural events. The Valley of the Sun ranks high in all of these. If you wish to consider retiring, the Phoenix area is

sun city grand: Short Sale in Arizona, Part 1 - 10/21/09 09:29 PM
To Quote Lenn Harley * * * * HARD CORE REAL ESTATE TALK AHEAD* * * * No day goes by that I don't see real estate agents advertise something like, "I can short sell your home at no cost to you". This leads many distressed sellers who are upside down on their home, or who have suffered some catastrophic financial setback to believe that they can be relieved of their mortgage obligation with no cash to the deal. Both of these are dangerous assumptions. Nobody can make the claim there will be no cost to you before a complete pre-short

sun city grand: Mortgage Update 8/10/07 - 08/10/07 11:35 AM
Yesterday, Freddie Mac (the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation) reported that mortgage rates were at a 2 month low. 30 Year fixed rates averaged 6.59%, down from last month's rate of 6.68% and the year's high of 6.74%.Freddie Mac also reported 15 year fixed rates at 6.26% from last month's rate of 6.32%. In spite of news articles to the contrary, mortgage loans continue to be available to qualified buyers at reasonable interest rates. There does not seem to be a factual basis for people to hold off buying any more. Jim Little, Your Sun City Realtorhttp://jclittle.com/Ken Meade Realty17001 N Del Webb BlvdSun City

sun city grand: Housing Prices Flat--Good News? - 06/03/07 03:19 PM
In Cathrine Reagor's column in todays Arizona Republic, it was reported that housing prices were stable, indeed flat in Arizona at this time. Good news? You bet! Our neighbor to the west has some real problems in the resale real estate market. Ms. Reagor announced that 22 out of 26 home markets experienced price decreases. Arizona real estate remains a bargain for a metropolitan area of its size. Also reported was that fixed rate mortgages are creeping up to an average of 6.42%. Keep in mind that rates were over 8 in 2000. Some of us can remember home mortgages with credit card

sun city grand: Good News, More Jobs - 06/02/07 02:35 PM
Yesterday, the Department of Labor announced that the number of new jobs created in May was almost double the number created in April. This is good for the outlook for sales of both family homes and retirement homes. Families may be able to start moving up at last, freeing up the older generation to move on also.
