We have looked at Question 1, Question 2, Question 3 and Question 4 in this series of questions you need to ask when buying a home already. It's time for Question 5!

5. Are there any important future plans for the area?

You may be able to answer this question by doing your own research about the area, but it is still wise to ask the broker for their input on open space, commercial, building restrictions and such.  It would be frustrating to move into your new home only to find that a local grocery is closing down or that a new house is going up where your mountain views currently reside.  Be sure you are not surprised by anything by knowing what is currently capable or in the works.

Question to the reader: Have you ever purchased a home that not all was what it seemed in the neighborhood?
