I belonged to the "History Hogs" motorcycle club. Some of our enjoyable destinations in Arizona are old Arizona forts. Some are now museums while others are just ghost forts with markings or maybe a remnant of a flagpole. Did you ever think about where the city of Flagstaff, Arizona got the name? A territorial camp or fort's flag staff was the center for mapping meaurements in the exploration and expansion of Arizona territory.
