Happy Memorial Day... - 05/28/11 09:09 PM
Every year this weekend makes me think about my grandfather. A part of the "Greatest Generation", my grandfather was a proud, yet humble man that served his country with distinction in the European Theatre. When I was old enough to appreciate the things he had to say, we sat down and made a deal that each one of got to ask a question. There was onlt one rule; absolute truth, no BS and no sugar coating.
I will carry that conversation to my grave, and will be forever grateful that we shared that afternoon that turned into evening that turned into … (1 comments)

Being prepared... - 05/24/11 07:50 PM
I find myself in the mode of preparing to submit an offer for a client tomorrow. Like anything else, this always comes down to my preparation, and ability to communicate my client's expectations effectively. This is the normal course of business that we all do with any offer we submit:
Confirm the client's intentions and develop a strategy to achieve those goals. Do a fresh CMA to make sure the data is accurate (more and more important in today's market). Notify the listing agent of the pending offer and set up a final property viewing. Explain the process to the client(s) … (1 comments)

Finding Balance... - 05/20/11 02:49 PM
is one of the hardest things to achieve. In fact, as I type right now, I am at Catch Air with my three year old. Don't think me a cad, just think me out of breath. I promise you that energy is so wasted on the young.
Anyway, I cannot think of the last time I just unplugged - i.e. no computer, no 4G, etc. I pride myself in being available to my clients and my family, and work diligently to be as efficient as possible. That said, I never really have a true moment to myself, but if I got it, … (1 comments)

That little awkward pause... - 05/12/11 11:13 AM
...can either be fun to watch or scary to witness.
I was out last night with a couple that are very keen on buying a house and staying within their budget. Seriously, everything that is not broken with the system manifests itself in this couple. Focused, determined, great credit, etc.
They have identified two very, very nice options. Here is where that little awkward pause comes in. One of them, that will not be identified here, is sold on one of the houses, while the other is on the fence as to which one to go for. And this is where … (3 comments)

Happy, Happy Mother's Day... - 05/07/11 09:22 PM
I had quite the busy afternoon trying to get everything done so that a work-free Sunday could be declared.
My son may be 3 1/2, but I consider this to be my beautiful bride's 4th Mother's Day. It is so cool to see the way she looks at our son - even when she is mad at him. I can only think of one title better than mom, and that is dad, but I admit freely that I am being selfish in that categorization.
So, to my beautiful bride, my mom and mother-in-law, my friends and clients who are moms, and … (2 comments)

125 years and going strong... - 05/04/11 07:59 PM
...and anyone involved in Atlanta's real estate market should be very, very grateful.
This week is all about Coca Cola celebrating it's 125th Anniversary. I would hate to think what the Atlanta market would like without the long term stability this great company has provided over time. Consider the stable employment, the investment and re-investment in downtown Atlanta projects and the simple recognition that Atlanta is HOME to the logo and drink known around the world.
Aside from that whole"New Coke" thing, which did nothing but remind many of us why we didn't/don't drink that other company's sad offering, I cannot … (1 comments)
