As winter’s icy breath grips many parts of the country—many areas have experienced record snows and cold—homeowners sometimes may be lax in observing winter fire safety.  Efforts to keep warm or conserve energy sometimes lead to careless activity or ignoring potential hazards.  
 
These two photos, taken in my neighborhood following a fire last night, show just how quickly a home can be lost to fire.  Fortunately, no one was injured, but the home and belongings were a total loss.  Make sure that you and your family members are all aware of proper winter fire safety and avoid disastrous … (22 comments)
