Do We Or Don't We Have An Extension For the $8,000 Tax Credit For Homes? - 10/30/09 06:58 PM
What about the extension for the up to $8,000 tax credit for first time buyers?  Do we have it for sure?  I keep hearing we do, and then I hear we don't.  Then I hear we almost do.  My mom taught me a miss is as good as a mile, so I still have no idea.  Please tell me; who knows?
If we have it or get it, my concern is that people will think they can wait to buy until next April 2010.  Right now there are people scrambling to buy to meet the end of November deadline.  Some will … (1 comments)

Let It Snow! I love Cedar City's Four Seasons and Owning Real Estate Here! - 10/28/09 11:34 AM
Last night we picked apples from our beautiful tree and felt grateful for a good harvest this year.  The fall air was crisp.  We woke up this morning to snow on the ground in a winter-wonderland.  The transition was a wake-up call that temperatures and weather can be quick-change artists in the Cedar City, Utah, real estate area!
No matter what the weather, it's a great day to look at homes and get one under contract before it's too late to get the $8,000 tax credit.  Agreed?  Speaking of weather, we hear rumors in the wind that the $8,000 tax credit will be extended.  I'd love … (1 comments)

Have You Tried Meditation To Make It Through Real Estate Stress? - 10/22/09 11:59 PM
Recently I blogged about my extensive work hours and asked for suggestions to enable me to have a life!  Even though it is late, I want to thank the real estate agent who suggested a form of meditation as an answer to my request for help.  Great suggestion!  I actually took a meditation class a few years back when I was trying to use natural healing to get rid of a brain tumor.  I want you to all wish me luck as I leave now to see if I can remember how!  It's worth a try!  Agreed?

Cedar City, UT, Real Estate News! Investors Return! What about your area? - 10/22/09 12:00 AM
Are investorys back in your real estate market?  To what level--many or few?  We are seeing  some investors back in our area!  That's a really great sign for a market turnaround in my opinion.  What do you think?  One of my investors just signed closing documents today on a 4-plex.  It was a great buy!  There are lots of great buys on multi-units, and I believe we will see more investors taking advantage of these great deals while both rates and interest are low at the same time!  Do you agree the time is here?

Do You Believe? Our Heavenly Home Buyer Just Topped It Off With Lunch! - 10/20/09 07:18 PM
Do you remember my blog telling you about the unbelieveably heavenly buyer that just closed on her dream home with me and my team recently?  She was thrilled and actually appreciated all our hard work and everything we did to help her.  I wouldn't have believed that she could be any more "practically perfect in every way" than she was already.  Then she brought in chips, cookies and a huge tray of sandwiches this week!  Normally, we're the ones that give the thank you gifts!  I just want all of you real estate agents out there to realize that there are still really wonderful … (1 comments)

Real Estate? Never on a Sunday for that's my day of rest. You, too? - 10/17/09 02:08 PM
Tomorrow is Sunday!  Yes!  I am so happy that God commands us not to work on Sunday!  What a kind commandment.  He means it, too.  That's the only commandment I can think of that comes with His divine example of taking a day off.  Right?  If not for this wonderful commandment, I would be working seven days and nights a week instead of 6!  Sunday is my favorite day!  How about you?
Please join me for a peaceful day of rest!  Have a successful week next week selling real estate!

Selling Real Estate In Cedar City, UT, For Fun! Would You Believe Heavenly? - 10/16/09 03:08 PM
Have you recently enjoyed a Heavenly Closing in this market?  Sometimes we can't even remember what an easy transaction is like with the current economy and problems in the lending industry and with out of town appraisers, etc.
This week we experienced a closing that makes the stress of daily real estate sales seem all worthwhile!  We had the perfect buyer with cash buying her dream home quickly!  She was delightful to work with and absolutely thrilled with us and our service as well as on top of the world with excitement about moving into her home!
It felt warm and fuzzy inside knowing that we helped a great lady make … (2 comments)

Cedar City, Utah, Real Estate Short Sale Blues - 10/13/09 07:55 PM
Hopefully, none of our Cedar City, UT, real estate short sales have come to the point that is mentioned in a recent news article!  The article was titled, "Banks Going After Short Sale Owners."  Has anyone heard of this actually happening to your sellers?  I do short sales, but I tell them to make sure their bank is not going to come after them for a deficiency and to check accountant for tax problems and lawyer for legal problems.  Anyone had any problems?

Now That I Blog On Active Rain.Com, Am I safe to stop pay per click ads? - 10/09/09 09:40 PM
I got a phone call awhile back saying that I could earn lots of money by clicking just 15 minutes a day.  I said no and that it sounded illegal to me!  I was told it was not illegal and very lucrative!  I still said no.  I have been wondering ever since if someone could be clicking on mine!  If so, I am paying for making someone else rich, but it is doing me no good at all.
I keep paying my $220 per month because I'm afraid to do anything that might limit the buyers in this market where buyers are … (1 comments)

Does Any Other REALTOR Work All Night Besides Me? How Do I Stop? - 10/09/09 12:14 AM
What am I doing here at this time of night?  Today Donna Christensen, an excellent REALTOR in our ERA office, asked me if all I do is work.  I answered, "That's pretty much all I do!"  I really do want a life, but I don't know how to find it in the real estate world.
My dad was a real estate broker in Bountiful, Utah.  He gave me some good advice which is, "Give good hard, honest service, and you'll do just fine!"  The advice he gave me that I wish I could figure out how not to follow is, "You … (6 comments)

Cedar City, UT, Real Estate Market News! - 10/06/09 08:30 PM
I just received the Utah Association of REALTORS 2009 2nd quarter market statistics--quarterly comparison.  Wow!  We are doing well in Iron County!  For single family homes, we sold 94 in 1st quarter and 133 in 2nd quarter which means we have an increase of 41.49%!  That's something to shout about!  For condos and townhomes, we sold 25 last quarter and 35 this quarter which is a 40% increase in real estate sales mostly in Cedar City, Utah, but also in outlying areas in the entire county!
I can't wait to see 3rd quarter statistics because our market seems to be bustling … (0 comments)
