A recent article in the Landlord Times in Utah said, "As an investment, Arrends points out now may be a good time to buy real estate. In certain markets, he says home price falls have fallen so far they have wiped out many of the gains in the last decade, so there may be deals aplenty." I do agree that there are many bargain-priced homes available. The same article points out that many would-be homebuyers are choosing to rent at this time. That would mean that buyers purchasing rentals should have a ready-made market of renters. With prices and interest rates (1 comments)

After one of our investors closed on a rental home today, he met with me in my office to discuss his next purchase which will be in December. He went into detail about his research in real estate market trends. He strongly believes that we are going to become a nation of renters rather than a nation of home-owners. He is cashing in and putting his money into rental units and has already purchased several. Could this be true? It is difficult for me to believe that anyone would rather rent than purchase their own home. I've rented and worried about whether to (2 comments)

It's true, and I believe we are seeing more buyers in our real estate market in the Cedar City, Utah, area this summer. Our market usually does pick up this time of year, so I'm happy that trend seems to be continuing. Prices are at bargain low levels and so are interest rates. With the huge inventory and attactive no-down loan programs, buyers are moving off the fence and buying their home!
