facebook: Face to Face - 2011 December Blogging Challenge: Day 15 - 12/24/11 02:09 AM
Real estate agents love to 'friend' other agents on Facebook, especially as a way to build a referral network. If you're with a major national firm, the suggestions from Facebook make it even easier. While it's easy to initially connect online, the challenge lies in adding depth. With that in mind, I'm reorganizing my 2,800+ Facebook friends to make stronger and more meaningful relationships, both in and out of real estate. At the same time, I'm thinking about the types of content that will make this possible.

Most real estate agents recognize the value of having a business page on Facebook. facebook: The Generosity of Friends - 11/07/09 10:07 PM
It started with a simple Facebook status update: Online friends responded with recommendations for We'll Be Here For The Rest of Our Lives by Paul Shaffer;, Crush It! by Gary Vaynerchuk; Have A Little Faith by Mitch Albom; and 33 Million People In The Room by Juliette Powell. A fraternity brother from UNLV mentioned Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore. I headed to Borders and was browsing the biography section when I got this message from a fellow Keller Williams agent in Virginia: Amy's kind and generous offer was impressive, and as I finished reading her text and

facebook: Please Don't Feed Your Facebook Friends - 10/25/09 09:19 PM
The recent changes by the Facebook development team have caused a couple of glitches in the site. One of them is that all new friend notices are appearing in our news feeds, which makes them look like this: I'm glad to see my friends making connections, because that makes my extended network bigger. But for any Facebook user who has more than a couple of hundred friends, these notices can quickly overwhelm the news feeds and bury what's really important -- status updates, links, photos and video. The 'Hide' button doesn't work in this situation. I'm sure the Facebook team

facebook: Want To Streamline Your Facebook News Feed? Hide It! - 09/25/09 02:49 PM
Some things are better left unseen. On Facebook there are several applications that can dominate your home page with news of your friend's high scores, what's happening on their virtual farm, or how they feel about a 'hot' issue. Or maybe you have a real estate friend who just doesn't get the 'social' part of social networking and posts one update after another about their new listing. Here's a quick fix to get your News Feed under control and insure that the content on your Facebook home page is only what you want to see. Take a look at the screen shot from my

facebook: Ahoy, Facebook Friends! - 09/18/09 04:25 PM
Tomorrow, September 19, is Talk Like A Pirate Day. To help you celebrate, the Facebook development team has added 'Pirate' to the list of available languages. My regular Facebook page looks like this ... ... but when I convert to Pirate, it looks like this! Changing your site to Pirate is as easy as 1, 2, Arrrrrgh! In the lower left-hand corner of your home page should be a link that probably says "English (US)". Click that and you'll see a list of all of the available languages on Facebook, including "English (Pirate)". Have fun, mateys!

facebook: Managing Your Facebook Fan Page - 09/05/09 05:15 PM
A Facebook Fan Page can be a great way to extend your online business presence. Building the page is very similar to setting up a Facebook profile.
