The 1930's is one of my favorite decades for classic cars. Just check out the curves, color and chrome on this Ford Roadster on display at the Henderson Super Run Classic Car Show held at The District at Green Valley Ranch and on Water Street in downtown Henderson.

henderson events: Henderson Super Run - Red Bel Air Convertible - 09/24/11 03:01 AM
On a post I wrote a few days ago about this year's Henderson Super Run, Sacramento real estate agent and amazing photographer Myrl Jeffcoat commented, "My first serious boyfriend had a red 1957 Chevy.  But it was a convertible, rather than the 4 door hardtop pictured."
After showing homes to a couple from Texas on Thursday, I stopped by The District at Green Valley Ranch to see which cars were on display ... and found this red Bel Air convertible. Enjoy!

henderson events: Super Run Roars Into Henderson, September 22-25 - 09/21/11 08:35 PM
If you're a car enthusiast, Henderson NV is the place to be this weekend for the Super Run Classic Car Show. The event kicks off on Thursday, September 22, at The District at Green Valley Ranch and continues at the Henderson Events Plaza and on Water Street in downtown Henderson from Friday through Sunday.
 

 

 
In addition to hundreds of classic cars, hot rods and motorcycles, Henderson Super Run 2011 offers live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, a 50's Fashion Show on Saturday, and the popular Roaring Engines and Slow Drag / Burn Out competitions.

henderson events: Ironman Triathlon Races Through Henderson - Sunday, Sept. 11 - 09/10/11 02:27 AM
More than 1,200 athletes have qualified to participate in the Marine Corps Ironman World Championship 70.3 this Sunday, September 11, in Henderson NV. The race starts at 6:30 AM with a 1.2 mile swim in Lake Las Vegas, followed by a 56 mile bike ride through the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, and then a 13.1 mile run through the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood ending at the Henderson Pavilion.

henderson events: Sonrisa Grill Hosts Margarita Festival at Lake Las Vegas - 09/02/11 01:53 PM
The 3rd Annual Margarita Festival takes place this Sunday, September 4, 1-6 PM, at Lake Las Vegas. Hosted by Sonrisa Grill, the event starts with live entertainment at 1 PM along with tacos and barbecue. Margarita tasting begins at 3 PM to determine the "Best Margarita Mixologist" who will win $1000 and a feature on Liquor.com. Tickets for the Margarita Festival are just $20 each, with part of the proceeds going to Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN).

The Village at Lake Las Vegas provides the perfect backdrop this Saturday night, September 3 from 7-10 PM, for Wine Walk, a tasting event and fundraiser to benefit New Vista Community. Lake Las Vegas in Henderson is the place to be this Sunday, May 29, from noon to 6PM for Tacos & Tequila. The festival brings together top chefs and restaurants from the Las Vegas valley highlighting their best tacos, taquitos, guacamole, salsa and appetizers, along with over 10 varieties of tequila.
Along with the great food and drinks, there will be a Mexican art exhibition, Mariachi music, and the kid-friendly "Plaza de la Familia." General admission is free, and tacos are just $2 each.
