keller williams: Your 2008 Business Plan: Setting Goals - 12/10/07 05:51 PM
In a famous case study on goal setting, members of the 1979 class of the Harvard MBA program were asked "Have you set clear, written goals for your future and made plans to accomplish them?"
Though they were some of the best and brightest college business students, only 3% had a written plan. Another 13% had goals that were not in writing, and a whopping 84% had no definitive plan.
After ten years, the class was surveyed again to measure their level of success. The 13% who had unwritten goals reported average earnings that were double those of the group without goals. And the … (24 comments)

keller williams: The Millionaire Real Estate Agent: Back to Basics - 12/08/07 02:52 PM
Yesterday I attended a business planning clinic taught by Dave Jenks, co-author of The Millionaire Real Estate Agent. Each person was given a copy of the book along with an 80-page planning manual. What made an impression on me was when Dave mentioned that top agents re-read the book every year as part of their planning process. Some even read it every few months.
Baseball players have spring training. Football teams have mini-camp. Musicians and actors practice and rehearse for hundreds or thousands of hours just to be ready for a few minutes in front of their audiences.
I realized that over the last … (16 comments)

In today's challenging market, I'm eager to hear what Dave's perspective is on the lead generation and economic models. I'm also curious what will be said about blogging and social networking versus other traditional lead generation methods.
Attendees will get a copy of The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, an 80-page Millionaire Business Plan, and lunch for just $39.00. The clinic runs from 10:30 AM - … (15 comments)

keller williams: Keller Williams launches new website - 06/01/07 12:22 PM
The new Keller Williams website, KW.com, has officially launched. Designed to focus on the consumer desires to view homes online, the site prominently displays 'Search for Property' and CMA features, along with Buyer and Seller Resources.
I'd like your feedback on the new site, from either a consumer or agent perspective, or both. How does it meet your expectations? Is it functional and intuitive? How would you rate the look and feel? Would you add or change anything to the site?
If this post gets comments from at least 20 different people, I'll pick the one with the best overall response, and that person will win their choice of Millionaire … (27 comments)

keller williams: Internet Lead Generation: How effective is your response? - 05/12/07 04:13 PM
At the Internet Lead Generation class I attended recently, the instructor cited results from a 2005 survey by the California Association of REALTORS® about consumer expectations when emailing an agent.
21% expect an instant response23% expect a response within 30 minutes17% expect a response within 4 hoursAlmost half want to hear from the agent in 30 minutes or less (just like pizza delivery!). And the irony is that agents who fail to respond quickly just might end up delivering pizzas.
In addition to the timeliness of your response, how you respond can make a huge impact on a potential buyer. One agent in Washington responds to … (12 comments)
