The current 30 year fixed rate is hovering at approximately 5.50%, this is down from 6.25% last week of November 2008. The 15 year fixed rates are even lower! If your current rate is 6.50% or higher or you have an adjustable rate mortgage, this may be the only opportunity that you will have to refinance and lock in your lower payment.
