property taxes: Orange County Property Tax Valuation Update - 01/28/09 06:23 PM
I have been receiving emails and phone calls from alot of people asking me if their new 2009 property tax value is right. I can tell you that the County really tried to do a good job. It is not easy to revalue all the homes in the county and they know that although there has been appreciation over the last 4 years, the last 2 years have been tough.

On December 10, 2008, I posted information stating that Orange County, North Carolina was ready to release the 2009 property tax revaluations. By now, everyone has received letters from Orange County with the new property tax values for their homes. I have received many, many calls and emails from clients, friends and people who have found me online asking me to look at their property tax values and to see if I think they are correct. Orange County North Carolina property tax revaluations for 2009 will be mailed to homeowners by the end of 2008. In North Carolina, counties can revalue properties for tax purposes every 4 or 8 years. Orange County has historically done this every 4 years.
