I received a call today from a prospective seller wanting to know when they should put their home on the market to move in January.  This is a dicey time of year.  If you wait to put your home on the market until mid-October, you risk running smack into the no fly zone of Thanksgiving thru Christmas. Caution: there are typical norms, yet last year I put a home on the market at the end of October and closed at the end of December.  However, I also had a home that had zero showings in the last 2 months of the year.  If only our realtor crystal balls were always accurate.
