Money Can Buy Happiness !!!!!! - 07/28/07 01:59 PM
At least it looks that way to me today! I have just returned from a sunrise walk along the beach in Hollywood Florida. I am here from the desert because my BBF (My 5 year old granddaughter Lily tells me this is how you refer to your Best Friend Forever) is hostessing a wedding for her son Lars tonight. Since my brother also lives in Fort Lauderdale and it is his birthday on Monday, I decided we should make it somewhat of a family reunion. His kids have flown in. My son and daughter are here and the grandbabies!
The last time the … (5 comments)

Project Blogger - 07/25/07 10:48 AM
If you haven't been following the last 14 weeks of competition, just click on  Project Blogger or you can always access it from the Project Blogger Banner on the Home page and go take a look. Twelve apprentices and coaches started the competition. Not all have hung in there. It has been time consuming to say the least. But, you've got some wonderful models in many different flavors to learn from.
The last part of the competition involves a chance to cast your vote for the BEST!
I am, of course, prejudiced because my friends, Mary Pope-Handy and Frances Flynn Thorsen are one … (0 comments)

Take Action - 07/23/07 05:38 PM
This quote is one my friends, Michal Joyner at Wells Fargo in Scottsdale, shared at a recent WCR meeting.
I Will Act Now!
"I will act now. I will act now. I will act now. Henceforth, I will repeat these words each hour, each day, everyday, until the words become as much a habit as my breathing, and the action which follows becomes as instinctive as the blinking of my eyelids. With these words I can condition my mind to perform every action necessary for my success. I will act now. I will repeat these words again and again and again. I will … (2 comments)

Getting to Know You - 07/21/07 09:08 AM
That song is ringing in my ears as I read the posts on the Meme group! If you don't know what a meme is you should visit http://activerain.com/groups/memes
I was introduced to this by Rosemary Brooks ofEVOLVE Realty & Funding Group
and so I dutifully posted.

It is all kinda fun to read about things you probably didn't know about members.
Getting to know each other is a component of Web 2.0. My Space, You Tube and Active Rain are all giving us ways to be closer in the virtual world.
Are we having fun yet? I surely hope so! My favorite philosopher, … (1 comments)

Staying Focused - 07/20/07 11:04 AM
What seems to differentiate those who are in control of their time and those who feel whipped around by it is the ability to master the art of focus and follow through.
Here are a few ideas:
1.David Allen has a great book, Getting Things Done.  One great tip is implementing a 2-Minute Rule: Do immediately anything that takes 2 minutes or less. This prevents the piles and it will help keep your inbox (both your virtual one and the one on your desk) with fewer action items. With less to deal with, you will focus better on the things that really need your attention.2. Allen also suggests … (6 comments)

The Magic of 3: Three Terrific Tips for Peak Production - 07/19/07 12:35 PM
You can tap into the magic of 3's to focus your action and produce better results. This is a simple way to get a big payoff.
Tell me if this sounds familiar: Does your day start with a pretty long list of To-Do Items? It seems to me that most agents have a crazy and undifferentiated list of places where they think they could or should be taking action. The problem is being able to consistently prioritize and make choices that have you take the actions that have the juiciest payoffs!
Here are my 3 tips to easily and effectively producing peak … (2 comments)

Multitasking: Smart or Dumb? - 07/17/07 05:04 PM
You know the feeling: you are a businessperson, a spouse, a parent, a caregiver to your parent and a volunteer on many community activities.....so the only way to be time-efficient is to do several things at once. Sort mail while talking on the phone, send e-mail on your PDA while sitting in a committee meeting, help with homework while designing your next marketing piece. Multitasking seems the only way to keep juggling and to get it all done. Sound familiar?
A growing body of scientific studies confirms what I have been telling my coaching clients: multitasking is actually inefficient and will, in … (4 comments)

Why National Conferences Are Good For Your Business - 07/17/07 12:34 PM
I just returned from the WCR Wealth Building Conference in Newport Beach. It was a First Class event that was fun, informative and provided information for business as well as personal growth. What could be better?
Here are some highlights:
DAY ONE: The PMN Class "The Business of your Business:People,Planning, Money & Management" with Terry Watson as the instructor got rave reviews. I didn't attend this one, but it is one I teach, so I know how good the material is. As a matter of fact, if you haven't taken the class, and want to do some great networking as … (0 comments)

Success takes Focus - 07/15/07 07:30 PM
It may be that the key to your effectiveness right now is to decide what you should stop doing, rather than what you could be adding to an already full plate.
Napoleon Hill said in his famous book, Think and Grow Rich, " what you focus on becomes bigger than the idea itself". So, if you are focusing on there being too much to do, it is unlikely you are going to attract much new business. The message you have put out is that there is just no room for more clients or activity or sales.
Similarily, if you have bought into the belief that the … (13 comments)

Six Tips to Higher Productivity - 07/14/07 12:55 PM
Do you work a lot, yet produce less than you think you should for all that hard work? In real estate, you only get paid for the results produced. You don't get paid for showing up or for getting ready. The difference between the very successful and the wannabees is the effective use of their time.
Their first year, new agents often spend lots of time on those activities that primarily give them experience. Sometimes, this teaches them what NOT to do. The habits and activities that are needed to learn the business are often different than those needed to be … (5 comments)

Check-in at Mid-Year - 07/13/07 09:16 AM
Joeann's Tuesday Tip - July 10, 2007
Summer is hot here in Arizona...and it sounds like in many other parts of the country too! Hope you are either enjoying it or finding ways to keep cool!
I awoke this morning to one of the miracles of the desert-the night blooming cereus plant had bursted forth with 22 sweet smelling blooms. If youon't know about these--they bloom once a year, at night, with a strong, pungent perfume that is glorious and then fade when the sun appears!

The advent of virtual tours is sure a good thing when it is 110 degrees out! I hope … (1 comments)

The Law of Attraction (Principles 22-28) - 07/07/07 12:14 PM

So here are the rest!
The past 3 Tips have offered you specifics on how to use The Law of Attraction to align yourself with the powers of Intention and Focus. These Principles were developed in 1997 by Thomas Leonard, the founder of http://www.coachu.com/. I participated with him (and about 200 others) in developing them in a series of teleconferences. Thomas then captured and went into detail in his book, The Portable Coach.
If you missed any of the posts, you can find them on my Newsletter Page in the Archives (and all my past newsletters there as well!) There was a lot … (0 comments)

The Law of Attraction's 28 Principles Part 3 - 07/05/07 07:14 PM
The Law of Attraction (Principles 15-21)
The past 2 weeks I have shared with you the first 14 Principles developed in 1997 by Thomas Leonard, the founder of http://www.coachu.com/. I participated with him (and about 200 others) in developing these 28 Principles of The Law of Attraction. Thomas's book, The Portable Coach, written in 1998 outlined these 28 Principles.
If you missed either one, you can find them on my Newletter Page in the Archives (and all my past newsletters there as well!) Next week, I will share the last seven. I hope these have given you some insights into how to become … (5 comments)
