joeann fossland: 2011 December Blogging Challenge:Make This December The BEST Month of Your Life!!! - 12/03/11 04:02 PM
I have started December by PLANNING What I want in 2012!
I've shared with you often that I believe visualization is the first step to getting what you want. The most successful people indicate they spend a little time (and 5 or 10 minutes IS enough!) each day visualizing their perfect outcomes. When you do this, you are programming your subconscious mind to look for the synchronicities and opportunities to take you closer to your vision. For me, it's worked in many little ways...just visualizing before a speech or class that people were happy and got value or visualizing my day as wonderful … (4 comments)

joeann fossland: How To Get The Most Out of The NAR Convention 2011 - 11/08/11 08:20 PM
The Fun and Excitement are about to begin in Anaheim as 20,000 real estate professionals converge for the annual convention!
This will be a week for me to see friends, old and new! It'll be time to network, learn, laugh and look at all the new tech stuff at the meetings and the EXPO. I have attended every Convention since 1988 and it is one of the highlights of my year. I find it helps me understanding the BIG picture and get a chance to hear from people what IS working.
Here are a some tips that have helped me and … (4 comments)

joeann fossland: I Need A Volunteer! - 11/01/11 10:55 PM
When did we stop volunteering?
I saw an extraordinary interlude last week when I visited St Paul’s School for Girls for high school reunion. One of the wonderful activities they planned for our Class of ‘66 was to pair each of us with someone from the 5th grade. The 5th graders wrote us a letter a couple of weeks before the Alumnae Weekend and then we met with them briefly on our school visit. What fun to compare notes! Each 5th grader has their own email address through the school and I am continuing to correspond with my buddy, Emmy Shields, … (5 comments)

joeann fossland: Time Traveling! - 10/19/11 07:04 PM
Going Back in Time!
Last week, I went to my 45th High School Reunion at St. Paul’s School for Girls in Baltimore. I realize now that I was clearly privileged to get the opportunity to attend this school where their mission is: St. Paul's School for Girls educates the minds and hearts of girls in a supportive and intellectually challenging community that encourages respect, integrity, creativity, and spiritual growth, preparing them as independent and confident young women to embrace the extraordinary opportunities of our complex world.
What a cool example of a great Mission Statement (HINT, HINT for those of you working on your … (2 comments)

joeann fossland: Embracing Change!!!!! - 04/27/11 09:49 AM
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” ~ Mary Oliver

We are moving this week from a house where we have lived for 28 years! My husband, Bub, is not a happy camper! Change is not a word that makes him smile. EVER! But he is coming around (after 2 months of discussions) because the outcome is really pretty wonderful.
Here’s our new view that backs 500 acres of State Park and State Land! Bub and I had a dream for retirement. We own 40 acres, that we have paid off … (6 comments)

joeann fossland: Taking Care of Each Other! - 10/10/10 05:28 PM
“Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world.  Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” -Margaret Mead
Think about this....
"Coma…a medically induced coma…  Pat was in a coma… Put yourself in Pat’s Place… You are Pat.
You fall.  You are paralyzed, lying on the floor all night  until being found by your neighbor’s son who has come to walk your Labrador Retriever.
At the hospital, a coma is medically induced.  The coma continues for over a month.  It is impossible for  you to do anything…  make decisions, conduct business, pay bills and … (19 comments)

joeann fossland: Reputations…Made or Lost! My Saga of Lowe’s, Customer Service, Twitter & Facebook! - 08/25/10 09:33 AM
After it was all said and done, my plumber, Norm from Mister B’s said it really scared him what happened…..He said he realized that even if he had done a great job for someone and they thought he charged too much, they could post something negative and it could impact his reputation! By the way, if you need a plumber in Tucson-call Norm!
Social Media makes reputation management more important than it has ever been. Situations can occur quickly and get out of hand if not monitored and addressed swiftly.

joeann fossland: If You are in the Rain, Look for the Rainbows! - 09/07/08 01:42 PM
Last night I had a dream.
No, not quite as profound as Martin Luther King's Dream, which was 45 years old a few weeks ago.
But, I do know my dream was a subtle message from the Universe, through my subconscious. I've taken a 3 month Sabbatical that is coming to an end on Sept. 22. The purpose has been to step back, stop doing most of what I've been doing and reassess what makes my heart sing so that when I re-emerge, I'll be focused and know exactly what serves to bring bliss and what I'll say adios to.
It's … (6 comments)

joeann fossland: The 4 Hour Workweek - 08/05/08 07:47 AM
I 've been attending the National Speaker's Association(NSA) this week in New York City. I haven't read the book yet, but got a chance to attend a live session with author and blogger, Tim Ferris.
Wow! It was a packed session and I took lots of notes that I will share in the next few days.
One of the tips that fits well with my Summer vacation. Tim suggests we stop doing things that we aren't sure about the difference they make for 2 weeks and then assess if you want to add it back in. This is exactly my idea … (9 comments)

joeann fossland: My Two Best Take aways from Inman Connect 2008 - 07/28/08 08:22 AM
During the Blogger Connect, Linda Davis said,"If your business is crappy (referring to how you serviced your clients), blogging won't help!" What a profound statement!!!!

During the Savvy Agent Technology breakout, Konstantin Guericke, CEO of jaxtr, Inc. shared his brilliant system of creating passwords that can be remembered:
Combine these 3 times to make an 8 character password:
the last 2-3 (pick one for consistency) letters of the URL prompting you to create the password some number (use the same for everything) some other word or letters you'll remember Wow! I can do that. I'm going to go … (9 comments)

joeann fossland: Summer Vacation Reading - 07/16/08 08:36 AM
One of my summer vacation goals is to read. I have a pile of books that have come highly recommended or that I have been meaning to get around to. I don't know about you, but I still love to read and had not been making the time to do it. Or leaving it to before bed when I could read about 5-10 pages and then got too sleepy to read more.
While in Florida a couple of weeks ago, I read a couple novels. It is almost like going on vacation to be entirely sucked into a story and time … (6 comments)

joeann fossland: How Selfish Are You? - 07/14/08 09:16 PM
In my keynotes and seminars, I often relate the story of the airplane announcement about putting on your oxygen mask first, in the event of decompression, before helping the child (or person acting like a child screaming beside you). I ask "why" and, of course, the audience knows....you can't help anyone if you don't have oxygen going to your brain! There are, it seems, many agents working today without oxygen going to their brains......Have you met them?
Today, I went to my first Yoga class in a few years. I am on summer vacation. I have made a committment to take care … (13 comments)

joeann fossland: La Posada Hotel - 07/04/08 05:36 PM
Take a tour of The La Posada Hotel This hotel was the gem of the Fred Harvey Railroad hotels. If you need a real good reason to go to Winslow, Arizona, this would be it! While you are there, Stand on The Corner and remember the Eagles! You'll be glad you did! … (0 comments)

joeann fossland: Takin' It Easy! - 07/04/08 06:59 AM
As the Eagles say.....
"Standing on the corner in Winslow Arizona, such a fine sight to see."

We spent 3 days in Winslow at The La Posada Hotel in the Harry Truman Room. The La Posada is an absolute gem. Built in 1930 as part of the Fred Harvey railroad hotels, it has been lovingly restored by Allan Affeldt. The Turquoise Room Restuarant was deemed one of the 10 best restuarants in the state by Arizona Highways magazine in May 2008.
It's on the old Route 66 and is a not to be missed stop across northern Arizona. There's not a lot … (9 comments)

joeann fossland: What Are YOU Thinking? - 04/29/08 04:33 PM
"All conditions and all circumstances in our lives are the result of a certain level of thinking. When you want to change the conditions and the circumstances, we have to change the level of thinking that is responsible for it." Albert Einstein
Your thought is the most powerful tool you have for your success. That is good news. Creating your ideal life is not about having to struggle really, really hard to do more stuff to make something happen. It is about RELAXING and finding your own way that is a natural self-expression of your values and what lights you up. When you have … (8 comments)

joeann fossland: A Cool New Phone That is a MUST HAVE!!!! - 04/17/08 06:06 PM
As a tech instructor, I have to confess, I am always looking for the cutting edge tools. When I saw the preview of this great new phone,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYimJPi5qJY
What do you think?
I said to myself,"Cost is no object, I have to have this phone!"
Or maybe I should wait for the vibrating model!

joeann fossland: How are YOU doing????Are you Struggling or Going With the Flow???? - 04/12/08 01:12 PM
Are you paddling as fast as you can upstream to try to make things happen? I have been using The Law of Attraction principles with my clients, in my class, Relax and Attract and with my own life. The concept of going WITH the flow instead of fighting it is very compelling for me. I love being able to relax and trust that I am doing what I need to do to have all the things I want. And I can't tell you how much fun it is to see things show up in ways I'd have never imagined and maybe, … (10 comments)

joeann fossland: Networking & Referrals-WCR Style! - 04/11/08 10:42 AM

I LOVE WCR!!!!!! I have been a part of many organizations and I find the energy and support I find at WCR Meetings is second to none! I just returned from The Mega Networking Summit in St. Charles Missouri. There were hundreds of real estate professionals all intentional on growing themselves and, in the process, their businesses. Thank you, WCR, for the opportunity to meet and learn from other members.
So far today, I have accepted 4 LinkedIn requests. This tells me people were listening when my friend and tech trainer extraordinaire Amy Chorew told them they needed to participate in Web … (1 comments)
