lily yellott: Walla Walla Waffles & Other Sights on the Great Northwestern Vacation - 06/22/09 09:06 AM
Leaving Portland to head east for the rest of the vacation, has us traveling along the army green, mighty, Columbia River on the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Highway for almost 4 hours. Take this drive sometime, if you can. It's beautiful, especially for a desert rat like me to see all that water. I tried to find Pete Seegar's song on the ipod without success (but I am pretty sure it is there). Why isn't there an easy search feature? The river in places looks more like a lake than a river. The beautiful Multnomah Falls , the second tallest falls

lily yellott: The Little Things....Day 4 Utah - 06/09/09 09:41 AM
Waking in Zion to magnificent views of the sun shining up on the high cliffs out the window of our cabin. Lily and Bub go off to the Lodge for some breakfast and encounter deer along the way. I realize the ambitious schedule we have in some parts of this trip is not allowing for the time to just relax and enjoy. Zion deserved 2-3 days at least! We are actually having 2 parallel experiences during this trip as Lily and Bub go find fun things to do while I do e-PRO Workshops. Today, I was warmly welcomed by the Washington

lily yellott: God's Country. Day 3 Great Southwestern Vacation - 06/08/09 09:27 AM
We woke up to clear skies and sunshine in Bryce Canyon Utah. We packed up for the day and treated ourselves to good breakfast at the Bryce Canyon Lodge. Built in the 1920's as a stop on the Southern Pacific Railways, the Lodge is a cozy and inviting place. The drive through the Park was stunningly beautiful as we meandered through pine forests at 7000+ ft elevation with hoodoos, cliff, caves and natural bridges off to each side. It was barely 50 degrees and there was a fierce wind, so our stops were brief. After a few overlooks, Lily decided she

lily yellott: Simple Pleasures: Day 2 great SW Vacation - 06/07/09 08:36 AM
We've gone from Tucson's 100 degree weather to chilly winds in the Grand Canyon! We left Williams early and drove up to El Tovar Lodge. Built in the early 1900's as a Fred Harvey hotel along the railway route across the southwest, the hotel is a luxurious accomodation right next to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Lily was careful not to get to close to the edge. GrandBub had threatened to push her over if she didn't quit kicking him from the backseat and I think she believed him! The gift shop at el Tovar is so fabulous it

lily yellott: The Great Southwest Summer Vacation - 06/06/09 08:59 AM
We're hanging out on Route 66 in Williams, AZ. Realtor Extraordinaire, Sandi Forree, has generously lent us her guest house for the first night of our 5 week road trip. Williams is a fun town with lots of live music and laid back atmosphere. Perfect 2nd home location! Granddaughter, Lily, brought Bitty Baby to dinner with us last night at the Buffalo Pointe Resturant. I had yummy BBQ Ribs and then we walked downtown for the gunfight! Lily decided the guns weren't real, but they sure were loud as 50 or so tourists watched the four bandits argue about where the

lily yellott: The World's Youngest Blogger - 08/27/07 04:19 PM
Yesterday marked the unveiling of LilysLand my granddaughter Lily's first blog! She has been so excited since she had asked me to buy her a domain name last week! And, she is a lucky girl, because her fairy BlogMother is none other than the Inman/ActiveRain winning Blog mentor, Frances Flynn Thorsen! With a mentor like that, she is sure to be learning all the tricks and tools. She has her first video on YouTube! Thanks Fran! You are a great teacher. LilysLand is about L words. Today's post is on Love! Check it out and leave her a message.
