This weekend join the Ancient Order of Hibernians as they bring to the Highlands the St. Patrick's Day Parade! As the oldest Irish Catholic organization in America, the parade supplies an opportunity to celebrate their Irish culture and heritage in a more visual way with the community.
The 2013 parade will be the 40th parade put on by the Ancient Order of Hibernians and it was decided by the division that the theme of this years parade would be "Forty Shades of Green"! The Barnstable Brown Party is held on the Friday night before the Kentucky Derby - May 4th, this year - and draws celebrities from all areas of entertainment! The Highlands is a part of Louisville, KY that includes many bars, restaurants, coffee shops and local businesses. Bridging the gap between Downtown Louisville and the suburbs, the Highlands provide a taste of what big city life is like. Residents are able to walk many places to dine and shop as well as enjoy Cherokee Park which offers a 2.5 mile loop that nature lovers can walk, run or bike around.

Twenty six years ago a Louisville tradition was born on Bardstown Road when a candle was placed in a storefront window to welcome passersby and promote friendship in the community. Today that tradition is alive and well with Bardstown Road Aglow. Businesses along the busy Bardstown Road corridor open their doors from dusk until 10 PM on the first Saturday in December to offer deep discounts and treats for shoppers.
