kfc yum center: Engaging Compassion with the Dalai Lama - 01/27/13 05:19 PM
Louisville is playing host to his holiness, the Dalai Lama, for a public talk and teaching event in May. Taking place at the KFC Yum! Center, the two-day event is entitled "Engaging Compassion" and will begin on Sunday, May 19th. The Dalai Lama will be giving a public talk to an expected crowd of 16,000 people!
 
The Dalai Lama has received the Nobel Peace Prize and the Congressional Gold Medal, and is known around the world as a spokesman for non-violent, peaceful and compassionate resolution of human conflict. Tickets are now on sale and range from $5-$100.

If you haven't noticed, recently downtown Louisville has been "the place to be". With new shops, restaurants and other businesses opening every other month, it seems that downtown is having a moment! Additionally, with the new KFC Yum! Center, that was opened in 2010, Louisville is being selected to host major concerts and events that bring several thousand people into downtown.

There’s a new landmark for Louisville downtown by the Ohio River – the new KFC YUM! Center.
The Center, which opened in October, already has booked concerts by The Eagles, The Judds, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga. On the sports side, the center will host the first- and second-round games in the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The Center even made history when it captured the 2012 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship. The NCAA had never before booked a championship tournament at a facility before it was finished.
