Procuring Cause Issues - Team Synergy says, "Yes We Can Make It Less Of An Issue" - 04/30/11 11:10 PM
One of the most difficult parts of a Realtors job is when they are working with a client who doesn't respect how they are compensated.  Now there are plenty of times when an agent allows this to happen and it's strictly their own fault but there are plenty of times where procurring cause comes down to an uneducated  buyer. The followingpost is a combined effort by Jennifer Fivelsdal,Irene Kennedy,Barbara Todaro,Maureen McCabe,Tim Kennedy and Gita Bantwal.

Understanding Real Estate Representation - 04/30/11 01:54 PM
When I'm asked about dual agency I always tell people I won't do it and tell the clients I only want to work one side at a time and I leave it at that.  Virgina Gardner from Charlottesville, VA posted a great article that lays the options of dual agency out.  I still won't do it however but heck, that's just me.

We All Need to Adjust - 04/30/11 01:43 PM

One of my Saturday morning rituals is to flip the radio stations back and forth while I’m in the car going from here to there.  I will flip between “Talking Baseball” on ESPN 1000 and the “Hegarty Family Irish Radio Program”on WPNA 1490.  I like these shows equally and for different reasons.  I love listening to the Hegarty’s because of my love of Irish music and the memories that resonate from days gone by when it was my dad doing the driving and us kids were in the back seat listening to the dance reels and ballads.I love baseball … (5 comments)

NAR's Need For PAC Money Shouldn't Be Mandatory - 04/27/11 11:56 PM
This was my response to J Philip Faranda’s post from March 31st
Why I Will Happily Shell Out the 40 Bucks Ok Phil, my turn to give a little food for thought.  I give money to RPAC and take a day off from my business every year to travel to our state capitol to lobby the legislative  issues that come before our industry.  I also belong to my local government affairs committee and am a key legislative contact for our state minority leader in the state senate. I walk precincts every election as a precinct captain and believe I'm doing my … (5 comments)

It Aint Over Until It's Over - 04/24/11 11:53 PM

Down three games to nothing, the Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks won game six tonight in overtime.  Last week the media was signing their death certificate and I must admit I was one of the fans that was handing them a pen.  I love to use sports analogies when I’m working my business and one of the best ones is by the Yankee’s great Yogi Berra, “ It ain’t over til it’s over.”  How many times have you walked in on a listing appointment knowing that the neighborhood superstar was up against you?  If you doubted yourself and mailed it … (8 comments)

I have had my blogging umbrella up the last few days but promise to get wet with knowledge again real soon.  Now as busy as I have been the past few days I needed to take a few moments out to wish our beloved Alan May a very Happy Birthday.  Since I don’t have time to serenade him myself we will let Sir Paul do the job.  Have a great day Alan, and I hope to see you at the Expo in a few hours.
