December 31 is finally here, so lets raise up our glasses and give a big cheer.Hello everybody from Alan to Sue, I hope you enjoy my year in review.
On January 6th, what should I happen to see, a shiny gold star looking back at me.  My first Featured Post was on the first page, I finally made it to the Rain’s grand stage.Eight more features, nine in all when I’m writing in the Rain I’m just having a ball.I wrote about ethics or the clients I wouldn’t take but my post on House Calls really took the cake.

December Blogging Challenge Day 28 - 12/30/11 10:41 PM

Day 28 was a great day in the fact that all of my preparation for my out of town buyers paid off.  I met my clients for a quick lunch and off to see seven homes that I had all ready lined up and waiting to be conquered.  When our day had concluded we knew exactly what home we were going to be placing an offer on, the home that I knew would be the one. Good things happen when you do your homework and are prepared.  It’s a good life.

December’s Season of Celebrations & Sharing- New Years Eve Bash in Downers Grove - 12/26/11 07:43 PM

Did you ever spend a great deal of time looking for something and it was in front of you the whole time.  I once remember traveling to Mexico and spent hours looking in several shops for the ideal chess board only to find the one I really liked in the Duty Free Shop.I’m looking for things to do on New Years Eve and low and behold the answer has been hitting me in the face all day.  I have had the local paper on my desk open to an advertisement  Carlucci’s New Years Eve party in Downers Grove.   $75 for … (3 comments)

December’s Season of Celebrations & Sharing- Leave The Driving To Them - 12/26/11 01:33 PM
     +=

Now that the Christmas Holiday is behind us we only have six more days left until we celebrate  the ringing in of 2012.  Six days is also the same amount of time we have to plan how we are going to get to our New Years festivities.

2011 has been such a great year for it would be a real shame to spend it in jail or even worse, the morgue.  Now I love to have a good time like the next guy but I want to be able to enjoy the memories of the night as … (2 comments)

December Blogging Challenge Day 24 - 12/25/11 10:44 AM

As I sit back and think about yesterday and what I did for my business the voice in my head says “ Ah, yo Joe it was Christmas Eve, you didn’t work yesterday”.  The voice in my head would be right to a certain extent but I realize that as a Realtor who works for himself, I’m never off.I still logged in to the MLS and checked out the hotsheet which became timely because I ran into one of my fellow Realtors while shopping and was able to congratulate them on a quick pending of  a home that was listed … (3 comments)

December Blogging Challenge Day 21 - 12/21/11 03:15 PM

Seems like I cant’ catch a break as of late.  Woke up today with a sore throat and a runny nose.  I immediately grabbed the phone and had someone cover my floor and proceeded to the kitchen where a Wild Mountain Blueberry cup of coffee was waiting on me.  I may be sick today but there is way to much to do.Finished answering all of the emails I was behind on and contacted a couple of clients that have been waiting for me to come off my hiatus.  I was so organized  ( which is a first ) while I … (2 comments)

Get Your Hinsdale Real Estate Sales Data From the Horses Mouth. - 12/18/11 01:52 PM

What a person reads on the Internet about Hinsdale Real Estate Sales can be very misleading.  Typically ninety percent of the home buyers looking to purchase a piece of the American Dream in Hinsdale will start their search on the internet.  They might go directly to a site they heard about from a colleague or an overheard conversation in the grocery store or do a Google search on Hinsdale Real Estatesales.  This is where the problems for the buyer begins. If a person was going to take a trip to Chicago how good would a United States road map be? … (0 comments)

December Blogging Challenge Day 12 - 12/12/11 03:13 PM

Today is  a sunny and warm day in Chicago where I sell Hinsdale Real Estate.  The Hinsdale Real Estate that I was showing today were rental properties and some great deals are to be had. When I got back to my office there was a list of things to accomplish.  Making sure the lender received the termite inspection so that we can have a clear to close for my buyers who are purchasing their first single family home, followed by preparing for a wine and cheese that I’m throwing this Thursday for two local candidates running for office in … (6 comments)

December Blogging Challenge Day 11 - 12/11/11 11:55 PM
A long day it has been on this the eleventh day of the blogging challenge.  I was awoken by a text message from my brother telling me to call my mom asap.  My dad had a rough night and she needed some help. My wife Lisa grabbed her stethoscope and I grabbed my car keys and away we went.Lisa helped my mom with the medications that are available to ease his breathing and I went to the store and picked up a couple of things. Once my dad was resting we departed as my alarm on my phone was reminding me … (6 comments)

December Blogging Challenge Day 10 - 12/10/11 11:36 PM
Saturday's are a long day for me.  I start my day by waking up and heading to the First United Methodist Church's kitchen in downtown Chicago.  I help organize and prepare food and cloths for a homeless ministry a mile away.
All of the prospecting and showing of homes means little if we are not giving back.  It's my way of giving back and recharging my batterries all at the same time.  It's a good life.

What to Do With Old Posts About Listings? - 12/08/11 10:30 PM
Way back in my high school days I learned that what you did to one side of the equation you did to the other side of the equation.  Tonight I removed a post from over the past summer because it was promoting a listing I no longer have and is currently with a new company.  When I went back to my home page I noticed my points had dropped.  “Oh no what am I going to do?”  I decided to write a quick post and ask all of you that post your listings what do you do when you no longer … (63 comments)

2011 December Blogging Challenge Day 8 - 12/08/11 06:17 PM

December 8th I got everything done I wanted to today.  Contacted a prospective seller with some marketing ideas, went through my list of past leads and toured seven higher end homes.  The best thing I did was Tweet about the properties as I was leaving so to better help myself remember the homes and to increase my online presence. The only negative of the day was a listing that I recently cancelled popped up on the market with seven of the fifteen photos being mine.  I allowed myself fifteen minutes to stew about it and then moved on because those seven … (4 comments)

2011 December 31 Day Posting Challenge Group - Dec. 5 - 12/05/11 11:59 PM
Today, I finished my business plan and finished a database project I was working on.  Once the database project was completed I went through the virtual dead wood pile.  If anybody remembers Brian Buffini's buddy Joe Niego they are sure to remember him divinging into a trash can for dead leads.  I have always kept my dead leads and started calling through and emailing them today.  Ah, it's a good life.
