lead generation: 2011 December 31 Day Posting Challenge Group - Dec. 5 - 12/05/11 11:59 PM
Today, I finished my business plan and finished a database project I was working on. Once the database project was completed I went through the virtual dead wood pile. If anybody remembers Brian Buffini's buddy Joe Niego they are sure to remember him divinging into a trash can for dead leads. I have always kept my dead leads and started calling through and emailing them today. Ah, it's a good life. (7 comments)

lead generation: Where's The Beef? - 01/22/11 10:37 PM
In the summer of 1985 I started working for Wendy's after school and on the weekends. Every so often if I had a day off of school I would come in early and help prep the food for the day. I didn't give it much thought then but I have really been thinking about it lately. Over the past month I have spent the good part of my mornings in the Rain. One might think I'm wasting my time but how can I serve and wait on my clients if I'm not prepared on a daily basis. As Clara Peller used (4 comments)
For years it has been drummed into my head to be like Peter Falk's character Columbo that when ever your ending a conversation to stop and say "Oh by the way, I'm never too busy for your referrals" in the same way that he would say "just one more thing" when he was about to nab the bad guy. A past client of mine called to tell me that Herm Schneider, trainer for the White Sox, was the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Naperville's weekly meeting. As I was hanging up the phone I said " (2 comments)
lead generation: Lesson Learned from Someone Less Fortunate - 01/01/11 11:55 PM
Yesterday I wrote about my experience at a local coffee shop while blogging about the American Dream or lack of it. Jenny Durling responded that my good deeds might come back to me. Well that Jenny is pretty smart and it did come back to me or at least a blue print on better work ethics. If you read my previous post you would know that a homeless lady asks me for a ride to a local PADS shelter and I obliged. I thought hard about what was I to take away from this situation and by George I think I (2 comments)
The past month has been a sports theme as far as my business is concerned. Earlier in the month Major League Baseball reliever Bobby Jenks was signed to a two year contract by the Boston Red Sox, leaving me to ask the question "What are the Jenks' going to do with their home?" I don't have an answer just yet but I did send a card thanking him for his time here in Chicago. I found a great card through SendOutCards.com that read" Some Say It's Only a Game......True and the Grand Canyon is just a hole in the desert." (0 comments)
