meadow creek christian school: The last class ever to Graduate from Meadow Creek Christian School 2010. - 05/28/10 03:39 PM
What a great bunch of kids my daughter has the privilege to graduate with this evening at 7 pm. A good number of the kids have gone there since kindergarten. My daughter only missed a few grades when we home schooled her for a few years. Tonight at commencement, they will be the final class ever to graduate from Meadow Creek Christian School. As of next year the name will be changed to Legacy Christian Academy as part of a total makeover of the image, location and direction of the school. Any sporting event you go to over the past few

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek's final game ever! - 05/24/10 12:45 PM
Subsections started last Thursday against Cromwell. Who? That is what we were thinking as rearranged sections pushed us up north. Anyway this was a close game with Cromwell taking an early 1-0 lead which we were able to tie up in the 5th inning. The 6th inning started off by loading the bases. Then Renee hit a soft liner in to right field scoring 2 runs. Jenny followed up with another single driving in 2 more runs. Once again, we scored the go ahead runs in the last at bat of the game. We shut them down in the 7th to

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek's final home game ever! - 05/14/10 09:35 AM
After getting rained out on Tuesday and the rain never letting up until 1 pm Thursday, our final home game ever may not occur. There was several inches of water on the field including over home and 2nd base. Our grounds wents went to work and created a scene out of the movie "holes". I arrived early to see how bad the field was going to be and to help out. Most of the water was gone by then but the field was still quite soupy. We started by filling in the batter boxes with drier clay by the backstop. We

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Softball Game 9 - 05/05/10 01:49 PM
Another great game tonight we faced Lions Gate/Bethany Academy. We were on the board first with a run in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Lions Gate held a few runners off the board by making some great defensive plays. Then they broke out with a 3 run 4th inning. In the bottom of the 4th we had 2 base hits but both runners were thrown out trying to take an extra base, so we went 3 up and 3 down for the 2nd time this game. We scored 2 times in the bottom of the 5th with some more timely hitting

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Softball Game 7 and 8 - 05/03/10 12:02 PM
The girls traveled to Providence Academy to face one of the top teams in the conference. This ended up being a defensive battle with our girls throwing out 2 girls at the plate and 2 girls trying to steal home. We also turned two double plays in the game. Going into the bottom of the 6th tied 0-0 the Providence team seemed worried. They brought their bats that inning though and scored 4 runs and won 4-0. This game featured the first trick play pulled off the the Saints though since 2003. The double steal was on and Lauren threw to

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Softball Game 6 - 04/22/10 08:01 PM
What a great day for softball! A long drive out to Lester Prairie today. The girls hit well from the start including a home run by Katie. Lester Prairie played a strong defensive game and caught us running a few times. We scored 2 runs in the first inning and were looking good. Lester Prairie dialed it up a notch though scoring 7 times and batting around. We scored another run in the 2nd and slowed them down a little. maddie had the most put outs in the game. The girls ended up on the short end falling 13-3 to a

meadow creek christian school: Como Tourney for Meadow Creek fastpitch - 04/19/10 11:55 AM
There was a slight chill to the air but otherwise the weather was perfect for softball. We drew Highland Park in the first round and played a good defensive game. Our bats remained silent though for the most part and we lost 6-2. St agnes was next, and our defense played another strong game and Kelli's pitching was good but the bats were left on the shoulder too often. Another 6-1 loss. In the last game of the day we played Minneapolis North and the bats were swinging from the begining of the game. This allowed Coach D to empty her

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Softball Game 2 - 04/15/10 07:48 PM
Now that was fun. We started off slow again scoring 1 run in each of the 3 innings and then allowing 3 in the 3rd to SW Christian. But from there on we just kept scoring and shut them down completely. Every girl in the batter order scored at least once. Kia pitched a great game. Stephanie led the team with 3 RBIs. Amy's hot streak at the plate continued as she has only been retired once all season. Kelly had a great game at short and the plate. Katie put a punctuation mark on the game with a HR in

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Softball Game 1 - 04/14/10 11:20 AM
Our ladies started off a little shaky giving up 6 runs in the first 2 innings. Once they shook off the rust they were able to outscore West Lutheran 3-1 in the final 5 innings. In their first game of the year they appear ready to improve on last years results. They had some great defensive plays and ran the bases well once they were on. A few more hits and a stronger start and they should win alot more games this year. Next up Southwest Christian on Thursday and Como tourney on Saturday Go SAINTS!

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Volleyball - Round 1 State Tourney - 11/13/09 08:13 AM
Round 1 in the State Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St Paul, MN, home of the Wild! After the banquet at Crowne Plaza Wednesday night introducing all the girls playing in the tournament from all 24 teams, we are ready to get the championship settled. Our friends from Andover had already lost a tough match to Stillwater 3-1. Time to introduce our Saints. Game 1 started out with point Saints but, quickly Nevis built a 4 point edge. We tied them twice in the match though we never led after 1-0. Nevis takes round one 25-22 and set

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Volleyball Section 4A Championship! - 11/07/09 05:52 PM
The place: Minnehaha Academy The time: 1pm 11-7-2009 The teams: Meadow Creek vs Mayer Lutheran The stakes: Who goes to State? Minnehaha was rocking with the pep bands from Meadow Creek and Mayer Lutheran switching back and forth. Meadow Creek played after games 1 and 3 and Mayer played game 2 and 4 if necessary. Game one our Saints started off a little slow but quickly gained an edge in the match. The score was close throughout but our Ladies took game 1 25-22. Great start girls! Game 2 had Mayer Lutheran scoring the first 6 points. Our girls slowly fought

meadow creek christian school: 4A Sub Section Champions - 11/06/09 08:08 AM
The first game of the night pitted #1 seed Southwest Christian against #2 seed Mayer Lutheran. Mayer Lutheran won the match 3-0. So now we know who we will face on Saturday if we get by Heritage Christian. Heritage came out strong and took an early lead in the first 2 games. Our Lady Saints just kept playing at a strong pace and limiting their own errors. The first game was won 25-15 by the Saints who were pounding the ball. In the 2nd game after trailing 6-2, we pulled even at 7 and then the match stayed even to 18

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Volleyball - 11/04/09 07:45 AM
Well the first 2 games of sections went by without a hitch. The girls quickly took care of Minneapolis Edison in 3 games. Last night West Lutheran came out and looked better than Edison, but we dropped them in 3 as well. Therese was able to use all of her bench in both sets and still maintain an edge over the competition. Thursday night the sub-section Championship will be held at West Lutheran in Plymouth. Southwest Christian will face Mayer Lutheran at 6 and Our Lady Saints will take on Heritage Christian at 8 pm. SHould be some great volleyball so

meadow creek christian school: The Battle for the Paddle IV! - 10/21/09 09:32 AM
This is the 4th year of the "Battle for the Paddle", this year at Crown College. The winner of this epic battle wins the MCAA conference title in Volleyball, at least that is the way it has worked out. It is actually just the final regular season game and Meadow Creek and Southwest Christian have shown up each year with no losses. Southwest won the first and last battle with Meadow Creek winning the 2nd. Meadow Creek went to state the first year and Southwest went to state last year. Let the battle begin! The first game SW takes an early

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Volleyball - 10/17/09 10:50 AM
Wow! 1st place in the Mora invitational. The girls did a great job in winning this tournament. They quickly dispatched St Cloud Apollo, then Pillager. North Branch in the semi finals was not able to keep up with our team. Finally it was Maple Lake in the finals. The first game was won by 2 points and the battle continued into the 2nd game. That one was also 25-23 giving the Lady Saints their first tourney win of the season ad priming them for a long run to state. Orono came to our court on Tuesday the 13th. This was

meadow creek christian school: Meadow Creek Saints Volleyball - 10/09/09 10:00 AM
This is the year for Meadow Creek Saint's 8 senior Volleyball players. They have been playing together at the Varsity level since 8th grade, when they formed the first B squad in Meadow Creek's history. They just knocked off both Champlin Park and Maple Grove last week and started conference play against New Life Academy at home with a win. Here are some other highlights for the year. I will update this blog as the season progresses through the State Tourney. The girls stunned Heritage in a blowout and probably their best played game ever. There wasn't hardly a spike that

meadow creek christian school: Rhinestone Roundup - 11/15/08 11:10 AM
We attended the fund raiser for Meadow Creek Christian School last night. They have a silent auction of donated items, you could buy anything from Wild tickets to baskets for presents. There was easily 400 different items to bid on. The items made by specific classes were always bid very high as each parent wanted to bring home what their child had made. My favortie was the scrabble board with everyone's name on it. We didn't win any bids. After that we had dinner and updates on the capital campaign for the new building. Sounds like they are almost ready to
