We're fortunate here in Dane County to have several State and local agencies providing Down Payment Assistance to eligible First Time Home Buyers that qualify.  Affordable housing and Dane County are not always synonymous terms, so many of these agencies have been created to try and bridge that gap, to make rental housing and home ownership affordable for those families making less that the county median income here in Dane County.

down payment assistance: Do your Realtors know their Clients don't need a down payment to buy a home? - 07/13/07 05:29 PM
Today I talked to a Realtor who is selling her home on a land contract because her buyers did not have enough money to put down.  I asked her if she got tried to get them prequalified and she said no, they don't have a downpayment.  She was not aware that we could get buyers in without perfect credit with no money down.
Needless to say I was surprised.  I obviously assume that others know more about my industry than they do.  So I am now making it a point to educate all of my referral partners, in Real Estate or not, … (2 comments)
