new construction tallahassee: New Construction Premium Hits All Time High
- 05/31/15 07:32 AM
It probably makes sense to most people that new construction costs make buying a new home more expensive than buying one that has been used by somebody else. After all, used cars sell for less than new cars and used equipment costs less than new equipment, so it only makes sense that buying a new home would cost more than buying a resale home. Different market cycles produce different results for the extra amount you have to pay for new construction. I like to refer to this as the "new construction premium," as you pay a premium for a home not having been owned (8 comments)
new construction tallahassee: Assessing Market Health Through Building Permits & Sales
- 11/02/14 04:08 AM
One way to study the health of the Tallahassee real estate market is to compare single family permits and home sales in order to identify a trend in the accumulation or reduction in the supply of homes for sale. As you will see in our graph of permits and sales, the Tallahassee housing market is building homes at near all-time low levels, which equates to roughly 30% of the pace that we saw in the 1990s. But a new trend is emerging, and it is one that could impact home values for both new and existing home sales. Single Family Home Sales And (29 comments)

I have learned quite a bit recently about this first-impression-eye-drawing-money-trap that I would like to share with you.
