real estate blog: Epiphany: Hire A Real Estate Blogger To Sell Your Home - 01/25/12 08:42 AM
If you want to hire the best company to help you sell a home, start by selecting a company that has a prominent real estate blog. The lessons learned while writing this real estate blog has taught me so much about what consumers are doing every day on the internet. I have written a daily real estate blog since 2007, and by my count, the number of real estate blog posts that I have written is right around 1,450. But for this version of Tallahassee Real Estate Blog, today's article represents number 1,000. Long time readers of the Tallahassee Real Estate

2011 is over, and as we look forward to the recovery of the Tallahassee housing market, let’s take one last look backward to see which blog posts were the most popular last year. The top 10 real estate blog posts for 2011 gives me an idea of what our readers most enjoy seeing at the Tallahassee Real Estate Blog, and I will use this as a reference for what is written here in 2012. The long-time readers of the Tallahassee Real Estate Blog know that I monitor our traffic (statistics) on a very regular basis. I like to know what is

real estate blog: Why You Need An Avatar Outside Of ActiveRain - 03/30/11 07:54 AM
Do you frequently comment on blog posts and forum articles and have to recreate your signature on a regular basis? Commenting on the internet does not have to be an anonymous or repetitive action, you can actually use a commenting "strategy" to establish your online reputation, and setting up your online identity is easy and can be very rewarding. If you've ever wondered how you can get your picture to accompany your comments on the internet (like the cool kid who always comments right after you), all you need is an avatar. Your avatar is an image that follows you from

real estate blog: What Do Your Visitors Tell You - 01/23/11 04:01 AM
One way to determine your blog's reach is to establish measurement devices so that you get feedback on what your visitors are reading and the links that they are clicking. My Tallahassee Real Estate Blog is a self hosted WordPress Blog that uses several different metrics packages, one of which is WordPress.com Stats, which is free! Key Metrics Report Blog Visitor Interaction My favorite function of this statistical package is the report it generates on most active pages (articles) on my real estate blog in Tallahassee. The following list shows my most popular pages (with the current count of total visits),

real estate blog: Top Real Estate Topics And The Housing Tax Credit - 04/09/10 07:47 AM
I’ve been doing a whole lot of reading this week, scouring the internet for any signs of change in the Homebuyer Income Tax Credit and have not seen anything that appears to be relevant. Many of our buyers want to know our opinion on whether the income tax credit will be extended, and thus far and have to stick with my earlier opinion that it will not be extended. Just to reiterate and clarify the significance of the tax credit, buyers might be eligible for up to $8,000 of income tax credit immediately if they purchase a home that meets

real estate blog: Technorati Ranks The Tallahassee Real Estate Blog #4 - 04/01/10 08:21 AM
Technorati has noticed. With our massive site change at the end of December, the Tallahassee Real Estate Blog fell “off the grid” for a while. Our google rankings dipped a little, and Technorati real estate blog rank dropped out of the top 100. But not any longer! The Tallahassee Real Estate Blog has moved to #4 on the Technorati Real Estate Blog ratings. This is our highest ranking thus far, but we don’t want to rule out #1! For those readers who have not heard of Technorati, it is an Internet search engine used by millions of people for searching blogs.

real estate blog: The Real Estate "X" Files - 03/31/10 09:22 AM
A real estate blogger has so many topics that are available and germane to the central theme of the blog. I think it must be a whole lot easier to write a real estate blog than some others where topics tend to be more narrow in scope. Sometimes though, I like to review the recent topics and reach out to readers to see if any “older” discussion points need to be revisited. The Tallahassee real estate blog is focused on anything that relates to real estate, with a focus on the Tallahassee housing market. Most of what we write here falls

real estate blog: Real Estate Blog Reader Comment Spurs Newspaper To Report - 01/15/10 08:33 AM
Did you happen to catch this morning’s Tallahassee Democrat article on the controversy that is finally brewing in downtown Tallahassee? You might recall that I wrote a blog in early December about a bogus compensation plan that Tallahassee City Commissioners awarded themselves (and deemed legal by OUR city attorney who also received the 60%+ raise). This whole issue was brought to light because Erwin Jackson wouldn’t let it go. He asked the City Commission to bring in outside people to review the legality of the entire ordeal. The City Commission waived him off, citing the fact that it had already

real estate blog: Home Supply Relative To Rate Of Home Sales - 01/04/10 09:12 AM
If you saw the new Tallahassee Home Inventory Report for January 2010, then you saw some some mixed news in the Tallahassee real estate market! The good news is that we saw a reduction of the glut of homes for sale in our area, but the bad news is that relative supply (the supply of homes on the market relative to the current rate of sales) rose from 12.5 months of supply to 13.0 months of supply. Fewer Homes For Sale In Tallahassee When we look at the inventory of homes on the market in Tallahassee, we see the total inventory

real estate blog: How Real Estate Appreciation Should Be Measured - 05/13/09 06:02 AM
Last week, I wrote a blog about real estate appreciation that generated a lot of emails to our office. People wanted to know if we could provide a little more analysis of what the Tallahassee real estate market has done, in terms of appreciation and depreciation. So, I thought about it this weekend and came up with the following analysis. I would greatly appreciate any comments following this blog for feedback (scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page). If you recall, regarding the best way to measure real estate appreciation, the Tallahassee Real Estate Blog wrote: Using
