The real estate graph below represents the measurement of home sales as recorded in the Tallahassee Board of REALTORS® Multiple Listing Service (MLS) compared with all of the home sales recorded in Leon County, Florida.

real estate blog carnival: Current Housing Inventory Works With Old Demand - 02/21/09 11:22 AM
I was curious about how the current supply of homes for sale in Tallahassee would appear against demand for the past. If you follow the information on the Tallahassee Real Estate Blog, then you know that the current supply of homes in Tallahassee is a little over 12 months worth at current demand levels.
But graphing current supply against previous demand levels show that we are very near “normal” supply (Click Picture To Enlarge).
The red line in the graph above represents a balanced market at 6.0 months of supply. The blue vertical bars show that current supply would have been … (2 comments)

real estate blog carnival: Leave More Footprints - Get More Visitors To Your Real Estate Blog - 02/10/09 08:39 PM
I like to think of blogging as "leaving footprints" on the world wide web. People who come along behind me and have an interest in real estate just might follow my footprints back to my blog. That is why I think it is important to branch out beyond my blog to pull other potential readers and customers back to me. And because it is on the internet, these footprints aren't washed away with the next tide.

real estate blog carnival: 4 Critical Real Estate Statistics You Should Know - 01/21/09 03:19 PM

For those of us who are in the real estate industry, I suspect we watch the housing market a whole lot more closely than the rest of America, even though nearly 70% of the country owns their own home. But if everyone were to just peak at one great real estate report each month, I would recommend a housing report that showed the trend of activity in each of the critical status categories as reported by the local MLS.
By tracking movement of inventory in the MLS, one is able to tell if the market is expanding or contracting, and … (12 comments)

However, there are some great points made by readers which challenge the veracity of the model.
