Bexley Schools Recieve Special Quality Education Designation
August 10th, 2007 categories: Bexley
Two Bexley Schools, Cassingham Elementary and Bexley Middle Schools have pulled it off.  The Bexley Schools have been designated International Baccalaureate schools.
We've been hearing that the schools have been trying to put the groundwork in place for these designations for a long, long time.  It's nice to see that the Bexley School System has another feather in their cap.
International Baccalaureate emphasizes foreign-language development and international awareness and encourages students to become self-motivated learners. The curriculum, used in more than 2,000 schools worldwide, is designed by an organization based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Have German Village and Schumacher Place been really quite? - 08/28/07 01:37 PM
German Village - Schumacher Place -Not so Quiet?
August 9th, 2007 categories: Real Estate News, German Village
Is German Village / Schumacher Place dead? No, it's still alive and well thank you. It dawned on me that unless you live there or follow the market, the panache of German Village may seem like it's given way to the North. While running some comps for a would-be client today, I found that Since May First 56 homes have sold in German Village and Schumacher place.
I know it has been slow going for German Village of late, but the overall picture isn't so bad. … (0 comments)

What is up with the Columbus AreaHousing Market? July Solds
August 8th, 2007 categories: Real Estate News, For Home Buyers, For Home Sellers, Market Updates
Franklin County, July 2007 Housing Market Update.  In greater Central Ohio, we had a mere 1,963 single family homes sell last month, 61%, or 1199, of those were in Franklin County.
From 652 square feet to 8051, they averaged
1,723 square feet, had 3 bedrooms on average and were on the market for about 88 days - not bad really is it?  From $7,750 to a cool $2,100,000 the 1200 homes ran the gamut, as they do every month.

It is Easier than it used to be to get an FHA loan and they'll be back in a big way - 08/28/07 01:33 PM
FHA Loans now kinder and Gentler for Columbus Real Estate
August 6th, 2007 categories: Real Estate News
There used to be a time when it was nearly impossible to get an FHA loan on a fixer upper in midtown Columbus.  The government backed loans with good rates had achieved a bad rap around town.  This year though, the Federal Housing Authority has relaxed restrictions on obtaining FHA loans.
This has been good news, particularly for the first time home buyers who often procure the FHA loans.  A common scenario would see a big, beautiful Dowtownish Neighborhood Home for sale "as is".  The buyer … (1 comments)

This Week in Columbus Real Estate - The Short North
July 27th, 2007 categories: Short North
Without a doubt the big news this week was the listing of one of the most recognized homes in Columbus, the Circus House at 755 Dennison.  With just over 9,000 advertised square feet, four bedrooms (only?) four full, two half baths, two parlors, a library and 2nd floor office, it hit the market at $1,395,000.  That's just under the auditor's appraised value if you're wondering and the taxes will set you back almost $2,000/month.  But hey, you'd be living in a Columbus Icon across from Goodale Park.
