insurance: New Condo Insurance Law for January 2009 - 12/24/08 09:28 AM
Starting January 1, 2009 the law requires that condo owners purchase hazard insurance and put their Association down as an additional insured.
This actually has always been in force but the new part is that you have to put the Association down as an additional insured.  Many condo associations don't really check this and this law has been very confusing from day one and might very well be changed when the legislature meets in March. Consult your insurance agent or attorney on the best route to take.

insurance: Hurricane Season Has Ended for 2008 - 12/01/08 08:11 AM
Well here we are in November 2008 and we have just completed the third year without a hurricane. This is just great news as so many people were convinced that we were sure to take a hit every year for years to come.  We should continue to make our homes hurricane resistant and properly insure our homes and realize that storms can hit but it sure is nice to know that taking a hurricane hit in South Florida is the exception not the rule.
