Twitter use gets Memphis Realtor a TV spot - 05/25/09 02:22 PM
Local news channel WHBQ- Fox 13, featured me in a piece about Twitter. Although I didn't have any editorial control, I think the product is pretty good. They didn't use any of my preaching about using Social Media as a way to engage, and not just do more push marketing, but I thought that theme came through. I Spoke too soon about the MIBOR-NAR IDX issue - 05/17/09 09:18 AM
I should have known this would happen. I attended the meeting of the NAR MLS Committee and posted regarding the MIBOR labeling Google as a "scraper" site. I knew when I posted that the unanimous vote of the committee was subject to the whims vote fo the Powerful (and slow moving) National Association of Realtors Board of Directors. The Board chose to send it back to the committee for "further study" , according to NAR's Realtor Magazine Blog, Speaking of Real Estate. In the discuss at the Board meetings a NAR director from Indianapolis (where this mess started) made the suggestion, … (1 comments)

Maybe NAR is listening afterall - 05/14/09 10:06 AM
Today the NAR MLS Issues Committee, without very much live input in the forum proceeding the official meeting and with no discussion in the official meeting, changed the MLS policy on "scraping" that touched off the recent MIBOR powder keg, changed the policy item to read as:
Policies applicable to Participants’ IDX sites
2. Participants must protect IDX information from misappropriation by employing reasonable efforts to monitor and prevent “scraping” or other unauthorized uses.
This appears to put the issue to rest.  Now let's continue to forge on forward into the late 20th century.

So you want to be a Realtor? Part 1 - 05/04/09 05:37 PM
Real estate can be a great job.  I have been at it for 13 years now, after 2 careers in the corporate world.   I develop a trusting professional and personal relationship with the vast majority of my clients; I have been more successful than most; sold lots of houses and made lots of friends.  But the business is not for the thin-skinned.  Here's a little example of the darker side:
So, you:-Brilliantly and honestly answer a single-space page questions printed out from a web search on "how to choose a Realtor"-Give the folks a lot more printed and linked information than … (0 comments)
