What this report tells you: Nice to see some movement in Arvada homes' $500,000+ price range, even though it's consistent with past years. There's still 40 homes listed in this price range, but this much movement so early in the year bodes well for getting that inventory cleared out.

The story of Arvada begins with the discovery of gold in 1850, and the rail lines that followed soon after. Trains of the Colorado Central Railroad passed through the Arvada village twice a day. Passengers could travel east to Denver or west into the mountains as far as Black Hawk and Railroad Street became a thriving business area.

Last weekend I got together with some friends and headed west from Arvada to Boulder to get some beautiful, sweet-scented additions for our gardens. The iris farm was our destination, it was about a 25 minute drive, and we had a great time.
You get to wander the fields, poking your nose into all your favorites, as long as you want to. Then, you grab a digging fork and a bag and go to it. They'll help you dig if you need it. Last week, my friend Dee and I were thinking about doing something just for fun. Preferably something easy and cheap. So we kicked around ideas - what would we do if we were tourists visiting here? I never thought I'd have much to say about tornadoes, living as I do in Arvada, Colorado between Denver and Boulder. I've lived here 15 years, and only heard of small tornadoes way out east in the farm lands. But as you know if you've seen the news the past couple of days, we have six or seven tornadoes on Thursday, and one of them was a biggie!
