The question comes up a lot - What do real estate agents do to earn their money?
And it's been answered thousands of times, but still you find yourself asking it again.
Obviously, the 'standard' answers aren't satisfying.
 
So let's don't discuss the long list of tasks I perform, such as 'take pictures', 'make phone calls', 'print flyers', 'put listings online'. Those things might make you frown and think, "I could do that myself if it meant saving thousands of dollars!" I would love to discuss those tasks with you later, but I don't think they should be the answer … (10 comments)

One of the services I perform for people who want to buy a house is previewing. That means I take a look at available homes on my own, before taking folks to see them. That way, I don't waste your time if it turns out the house is not for you.
Here's some things I've recently found when previewing:
A foundation wall pushed out and clumps of dirt falling into the basement. Listing said it needed TLC. 3 bedrooms, even though the listing said there were four. A home that backed up to an industrial area. A key that wouldn't open … (3 comments)

The story of Arvada begins with the discovery of gold in 1850, and the rail lines that followed soon after.  Trains of the Colorado Central Railroad passed through the Arvada village twice a day. Passengers could travel east to Denver or west into the mountains as far as Black Hawk and Railroad Street became a thriving business area.
