There are at least 2 fun things to do in Kansas City the weekend of May 15th & 16th. Both involve eating, of course. On Saturday, May 15th grab the kids, the neighbor’s kids…well, grab the parents too, (really anyone) and head to the 1st annual Kansas City Ice Cream Festival! Stop by the Overland Park Trade Center on 115th & Metcalf between 10:00am-6:00pm. Okay, for dinner on Sunday, May 16th, I suggest that you eat at 20 different Kansas City restaurants. That’s right. They are coming to South Kansas City----finally. Watch for Trader Joe's in the Ward Parkway Shopping Center at 85th & Ward Parkway in 2011. I'll admit that I've never shopped at a Trader Joe's store. I know. But, I've heard from so many people who passionately love the stores, and will travel for miles to go and stock up...as well as experience, well, the experience of shopping there. So, now I can move from keeping track on Facebook with groups of people devoted to bringing Trader Joe's to Kansas City - to seeing for myself!
